He was a very good union player, a very tough player, 100 international caps, and captained the British lions twice.
I would think he's fairly used to having his head knocked off, and as anyone finding themselves on the wrong side of a union ruck will tell you, it ain't a soft game.
Weather or not it's a publicity stunt or not I don't know, but I would imagine if he doesn't make it won't be down to not getting stuck in.
I've seen a few so called RL hard men come off the field in a worse state than him, rambo ronnie gibbs, always brings a smile to my face.

Felt a bit sorry for the bloke after the 1st tackle,Couldn't have run into a nastier player than David Ferriol.

Watched the highlights today... had to have a bit of a chuckle over that first drive. He looked a bit hesitant going in at dummy half and unfortunately for him ran into a brick wall with completely the wrong technique. Well done to Les Cats though, looked like they could have been aiming to force the error from him and they got what they wanted.

I think he's learnt now though.

Hopefully Onion fans will take note. Our's is different game that requires different skills and techniques, and deserves respect because it is bloody hard!!

apparently when he signed he was told by Mr Noble "We will bring you off at half time" to which he replied "Thats good we only got a slice of orange at Cardiff.
