| Quote: st.stephen "Hope you don`t mind a comment from a Saints fan here-as you have all so rightly said,JD and his team have absolutely no need to apologise to anyone. The whole club and fans there did Leon and his family proud.
I would also like to say how well John Kear spoke after the game,I give him and yourselves my utmost respect.
Only too well unfortunately!

| No need to apologise JD.
If any one needs to apologise it’s the fans after last night, walking out very early and slating the performance, there was no need for it what so ever and the fact they did not wait till the final whistle to clap the players says enough for me

| The way the squad has played this season in honour of adam is quite amazing so far and this blow to a team of HUMAN beings is too much. To take the field and play rugby at all afterall that has happened this last six months is courageous beyond what should be expected of a rugby team. Nothing to apologise for JD, just give your kids a hug and keep on being the great leader you are.

| Totally unnecessary JD - wakefield played with their hearts if not with their heads.
No one could or should expect anymore.

| Don't feel the need to apologise JD. We were proud of you as our Captain and the rest of the team for the way you have all conducted yourselves this last week and for the last 5 months since Adams death.
I couldn't have even contemplated playing after the moving pre-match remembrance of Leon. The interview with Leon's parents struck a chord with all supporters. As a parent I could not envisage coping with what Leon's family have had to go through this week.
Hold your heads up JD and the rest of the boys. Also JK for the impeccable way they have all coped with such traumatic events.

| I have to say watching the game on Sky last night was a strange occasion. It was a fantastic display of courage from everybody within the game but mainly from Wakey. Everybody associated with the club should be proud of themselves and not apologetic in the slightest. It is times such as these where priorities are restored and human nature is shown at its very best.
WRT Sky and Bill Arthur; last night Sky gave a wonderful display all around. I genuinely believe that Bill Arthur didn't mean to ask that question and I gained a sense that he could tell as he said it that it was insensitive and wrong. I hope nobody goes over the top regarding it as IMO it wasn't deliberate. It was a poor choice of question and wording and nothing more. Even so, Demetriou answered it with great dignity and should be commended.
I was also very proud of the Saints boys last night. The lack of celebration and sense of professionalism was evident. Similarly, Leon Pryce spoke exceptionally well at the end of the game despite his own obvious problems right now.
To finish, be proud of yourselves and your club. Everybody at Wakefield has provided a great sense of respectability at the present time and one result in the toughest of moments for the players is not going to change that. The memory of Leon will be served throughout the remainder of the season and beyond and done well I believe.

Bob on. He made a mistake and, as you say, was probably kicking himself as he asked it....no need for complaints, I'm sure he feels bad enough as it is!

| I can only echo what Stirlingshire Saint has posted. Sums it up perfectly for me. The fact that the game took place at all was a celebration of rugby league under the most difficult circumstances you could imagine. Everyone involved in that game deserves to be commended.

| yes rebel totally agree, the hardest part as been achieved and now we can look forward to the leigh match which will be a tricky encounter within its own right.
Friday really did not matter it was the first step on the road to recovery and thankfully we played a superb outfit who played the game with enough dignity to actually put in a very professional performance.
NO ONE AT WTW NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING
i as a fan have never been as proud to be not only a RL fan but a life long fan of Wakefield because I think even the cynical of spectators would be hard pressed to find fault within the way how we as a club have performed over the last 6 days and the last 6 months.
faultless IMHO

| I would also like to add that no apology is necessary.
Throughout this tragedy one thing has stood out for me, the way the club have handled the situation and the praise they've received, from the Walker family, the press and Tv and the wider Rugby League community.
Our club has been much maligned since we came into Super League some of it justified but much of it not. Our booad have come in for much stick from the supporters but in the way they've handled the tragedy of Leon's death is first class. They may or may not have shortcomings as Rugby League administrators but as human beings they are top drawer and I for one cannot praise the likes of Ted, Diane and the rest of them highly enough.
They say the mark of a great organisation is not how they cope when things are going well, but how they cope when things are going badly.
Wakefield Trinity is one great organisation.

Agree with that too, Muts. The Saints players deserve a lot of credit for the way the approached the game.
It's wrong to point to mistakes and errors and single out players last night. It doesn't matter. We had to play the game to draw a line in the sand, and there will be more moments like this before we can really move on.
I would like to mention one moment in the game though - Aaron Murphy's try. Not only was it a nice try and a well worked move, but I was delighted that the lad was able to score and make this statement for his friend. When Danny's kick went over, I was punching the air - it felt for a moment like watching a normal game. The feeling didn't last long, but that had nothing to do with the effort the players put in.
No need for self doubt, no need for recriminations, they were all heroes in my book.

| I can understand the sentiment, but absolutely unnecessary. For me, JD is one of the pillars of this club, and he is long past the need to apologise for anything.
