With signing Newton they are over the cap they have been desperately trying to off load a player so they can fit in the cap.Chev Walker was initially the one to go with Crusaders the destination but they would not take the risk until he gets the all clear from his injury. Cooke and Morgan do not see eye to eye either and he is also a big earner at the club, they have publicly stated they are not going to offer him a new contract so it makes sense for both parteis.
Plus Broughy can give him a lift to training and matches !!

The Salary cap is LIVE, so no player is allowed to sign if it goes over.

How does the live cap work though? Players will be on a yearly wage, but paid monthly. Therefore could it not be that KR would have been over the cap if all players were to stay for the 2010 season. It would therefore explain why KR were trying to offload Chev Walker initially and now Cooke. |
