| The reality is that we wouldn't find out until he played, whoever he is.
There are some quality forwards who just can't break through because the players ahead of them are just too high in quality. There are some who don't break through because they have the skill but not the attitude. David Fifita was regarded as a fringe player at Cronulla. His twin brother was the best player in a grand final and a regular Tongan international. He just has that little extra bit of fire that David doesn't have, but David has enough natural ability to make it in the super league.
Some quality players don't make it because they don't have the same calibre of players around them, or because they just don't take to the weather or lifestyle.
Whoever it is, we won't find out if we've got a rock or a diamond until he plays.

I loved Tadulala but his strike rate wasn’t great. Best winger ever though for running the ball out, like a second row on the wing.

One of my favourites going even further back was Sovatabua! That guy could score a try and could leap like a gazelle.
As for props. I’m sure there will be some gems trying to break through in the NRL in their early-mid 20s. I think we need to be looking at these. 3/4 of the props we have are 30+ so the experience is already there.

Some good video clips and background on Leivaha Pulu not that we'll be signing him...Stephen Kearney knows his stuff and rates him...
https://nzwarriors.com/threads/leivaha-pulu.56229/
On his return to Australia, Pulu caught the eye of the Titans after a strong season with the Wyong Roos, and made his NRL debut aged 25 in March, 2016. Pulu's difficult path to the top has made him more hungry to succeed, as he's all to aware of the alternative.
"It has made me more appreciative of everything, to this day," said Pulu. "It was pretty hurtful at times but you have to keep going and hopefully let the tide change.
"I was lucky enough to get a break with the Titans. I wanted to give it my best shot and if it didn't turn out, at least I knew I gave it my all. Now I've got the chance to do more."
Warriors coach Stephen Kearney is a fan, and it seems likely Pulu, who has 45 NRL games behind him, will be part of the team to face the Rabbitohs in Perth in round one. At 1.92m and 111kg, he offers power and an intimidating edge, something sorely needed in the Warriors pack.
"He's brought a lot to the team, made a strong impression," said Kearney. "He's a guy that has worked hard to get where he is now and that shows . . . he's certainly putting his hand up."

I've gone back and checked
Fifita, Arona and Green are all signed for next year. As is Aydin
King and Kopy were out of contract and have left
Gwaze is out of contract but I think is still talking contracts
Navarette and Tangata were loans so unless we either extend or sign them, they go back to their clubs.

Pretty much it. For me it’s between Aydin and Gwaze and Aydin is signed up. Don’t think we have luxury of bringing on 2 young props when we are reducing the budget yet want to improve the quality.
I would probably take Navarette. Not sure why he didn’t feature much towards end but I like his aggressive no nonesense running style.

I’m sure I read that Gwaze has been let go. Quite liked him to be honest but the coaching staff see things we don’t.

I’d keep either Naverette or Tangata, both solid players. Neither will ever be the star player we seem to want so probably wouldn’t keep both.

Gwaze has gone. Apparently landed a deal with a club outside SL but haven't seen an announcement

Both solid forwards. If we are to keep one, I suspect it will be Tangata. For Navarette, after Catalans and Wigan, we are probably a step-down. For Tangata, he probably regards us as a step-up. For those reasons, I imagine it would be easier to keep Tangata than Navarette.

Shame, the little bits I’ve seen have been promising.
