Leyland is raw, makes a lot of errors and is a little bit off the pace for SL IMO.'"

I agree. The 7 is very good.
He won't be there long

A few people said no to Hurrell but he had a great game for Sts.

Thought TJ was OK but bombed a try with hus kick. Should have taken Miller on. I think he'd have beaten him.
Max will get him way more chances if he comes back.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.:

Catalans don’t seem to have the game to create that space for TJ this season. He will score a ton with the way we are playing tho year if it continues into 2025.

Not sure why we are still talking about quotas when we are full. It’s the uk players we need to look at unless any are paid off and it’s too early to think about that.

There’s slim pickings for the uk players or none quota players but there is some good players like Laguerre, Johnstone, Storton, Hampshire are probably the pick.

There’s some maybe worth a look like Rouge who has good utility and looks young and capable.

Yes, TJ should have backed himself and gone for the corner, but tbh I think the pass caught him by surprise and he didn't know what to do, seeing as the only other one he got thrown attacking Leeds ended up in the stand icon_wink.gif.
Tbf though the rest of his game was solid IMO. Taking the ball out of his own 20 was strong, he didn't miss a tackle and I think his overall defence has improved, positionally and his one-on-one stuff while he's been at Catalans, not that it was bad when he left us. As we saw, given room he's still got his gas to burn.

I know he scored quite a few for Catalans last season, but in the 5 games I've seen him play for them this year, he hadn't scored until today. As Trojan says above and you allude to, I don't think they use him enough or get the most out of him. It may be because they have other good players but still, when you have a guy like TJ on the field you want to set plays up around him and get the ball to him whenever possible when attacking. If this was the only game I'd seen him play it'd be unfair to say the above but as I said it's the 5th game I've watched him in. I was quite surprised that he'd scored 33 in 40-something games. As you say Max will set him up far more than he does at Catalans and I feel Powell as a coach will know how to use him better than McNamara uses his wingers.

Yeah, it became comical with Hurrell and Blake causing them bedlam down that right side in that 2nd half, but then again you and I could have last night. icon_lol.gif

They completely lost the plot in that second half. I know they had to completely re-jig a few places after injuries, but they played against 12 men most of the first half, then came out in the 2nd and looked like they were playing with 11 men. When it later turned into a 12 v 12 game, it got even uglier.
As someone else mentioned apart from them gassing from the Clogger school of conditioning, they generally didn't have a plan A in attack in the 1st half, or a plan B in the second.

Although not quite the same, Matt Ellis has already shown that he’s willing to move contracted players on if they’re in the way of bringing a better player in. He brokered deals with Gaskill and Torfua to create room for other signings who’d help the team improve. We don’t need to fall out with a player to move him on and if it’s explained that he doesn’t figure in the team plans anymore I’m sure a player would accept the facts and move on.

I thinkTJ is a winger that thrives better with a decent centre and if he doesn't have one his talents are wasted. The guy alongside him yesterday was like another Franco.

Agree Ketty, just concerned about his see food diet. (And no that's not a typo)

I'm not sure I would be too concerned about his physique, he seems fit enough and it doesn't seem to have affected his game up until now in his career and he's always carried a bit of extra weight, some players can just do it, in fact, some players look better players carrying a bit of weight.

I would just love to sign him and the fact that it would demonstrate we are a club on the way up whilst Cas are on their way down.

Great if it happens and would be good if we could get him now. I feel we do need to strengthen in the centres

Hall would be a better option for us than Cam Scott who I think has been poor this season

I'll be honest if Powell thinks he can improve him by working with Shenton, I trust him but I wouldn't be paying a fee for him. His defence is still a weak spot and he's still quite light weight imo. I know he's got age on his side but atm he wouldn't get in our side as a first-choice centre, I'd prefer Thornley and Pratt.
