I think it's only 50k for a club produced player like TJ.

| Marquee rule I guess only comes into play once you hit the cap. Once we get to that stage your highest earner counts less due to marquee allowance.

Yeah TJ if we do sign would count as a maximum of £50k against our cap. Its one of the reasons why we are hopefully able to get him because any other club he would cost more against their cap so we are able to outbid other clubs.

| Quite a few on that list who I would not fancy, plus plenty who seem fringe players. Th one who stands out is Bennison at Saints. He is still young and improving and can cover many positions in the backs

| I'd take Alrix Da Costa if Catalans don't plan on keeping him.

| A few people seem to rate Oliver Leyland from London Broncos. To be honest I’ve never seen him play, so can’t comment.

| Would take Cust and Parcell at Wakey.
Will be interesting to see how we use the quota spots.

We've used them or all, as far as I can see it anyway. There was a conversation about it a few pages back.
We've got Atoni, Rodwell, Vagana, Uele, Lino, Walmsley, and Bain all signed up on at least 2-year deals. Uele was just signed initially on a one-year deal, but he has just signed for another year. Bothroyd seems to be a year, even though at 20 he looks to have the potential to be a very good SL player but sadly he's a quota, if he wasn't we'd be keeping him IMO. All this is obviously on the proviso that there isn't anything in their contracts about Championship only but I can't see it.
I'm generally happy with the overseas we've got, the Props especially, they're young, big, athletic and only going to get better and grow as players this season, Atoni being the oldest at 28. Without naming names though I feel there are probably a couple where I think we could get British players to do the job, without using up a quota space.

I've watched a lot of London and one player I really like the look of is Meadows at 7, I'm not sure he's the level of being a starting SL half challenging for the top 6, but he would certainly be a useful to have in the squad, he looks good in a very poor team getting beat every week which is something.
Leyland is raw, makes a lot of errors and is a little bit off the pace for SL IMO.

I agree. The 7 is very good.
He won't be there long

| A few people said no to Hurrell but he had a great game for Sts.
Thought TJ was OK but bombed a try with hus kick. Should have taken Miller on. I think he'd have beaten him.
Max will get him way more chances if he comes back.

Catalans don’t seem to have the game to create that space for TJ this season. He will score a ton with the way we are playing tho year if it continues into 2025.
Not sure why we are still talking about quotas when we are full. It’s the uk players we need to look at unless any are paid off and it’s too early to think about that.
There’s slim pickings for the uk players or none quota players but there is some good players like Laguerre, Johnstone, Storton, Hampshire are probably the pick.
There’s some maybe worth a look like Rouge who has good utility and looks young and capable.

Yes, TJ should have backed himself and gone for the corner, but tbh I think the pass caught him by surprise and he didn't know what to do, seeing as the only other one he got thrown attacking Leeds ended up in the stand .
Tbf though the rest of his game was solid IMO. Taking the ball out of his own 20 was strong, he didn't miss a tackle and I think his overall defence has improved, positionally and his one-on-one stuff while he's been at Catalans, not that it was bad when he left us. As we saw, given room he's still got his gas to burn.
I know he scored quite a few for Catalans last season, but in the 5 games I've seen him play for them this year, he hadn't scored until today. As Trojan says above and you allude to, I don't think they use him enough or get the most out of him. It may be because they have other good players but still, when you have a guy like TJ on the field you want to set plays up around him and get the ball to him whenever possible when attacking. If this was the only game I'd seen him play it'd be unfair to say the above but as I said it's the 5th game I've watched him in. I was quite surprised that he'd scored 33 in 40-something games. As you say Max will set him up far more than he does at Catalans and I feel Powell as a coach will know how to use him better than McNamara uses his wingers.
Yeah, it became comical with Hurrell and Blake causing them bedlam down that right side in that 2nd half, but then again you and I could have last night.
They completely lost the plot in that second half. I know they had to completely re-jig a few places after injuries, but they played against 12 men most of the first half, then came out in the 2nd and looked like they were playing with 11 men. When it later turned into a 12 v 12 game, it got even uglier.
As someone else mentioned apart from them gassing from the Clogger school of conditioning, they generally didn't have a plan A in attack in the 1st half, or a plan B in the second.
