| Quote: Agent Mulder "Thats a Wakey fans version of the game and yes I know it is on the Wakey site. Your first try was from a pass that was so far forward it was beyond belief. The second Wakey try came from a knock on which was missed by the officials. It was right infront of us. I don't think Brough going off cost you the game as we lost Gidley with what looks a long term injury. His replacement lasted about a minute before he went off with a wrist or hand injury (just hope it's not broken.) All in all it was a very good exciting end to end game which could have gone either way. The officials were poor but for both sides. You should be proud of your team they will still be up there at the end of the season when it matters.'"
Pass to Meli was a mile forward and the 'goal', ball went wide of the post.

| Quote: TRB "I can't believe that no-one has mentioned Pryce - the guy was fantastic!
In fact, all their 'special' players - Eastmond / Pryce / Cunningham / Graham - were superb all night and caused us all the problems we endured.
But as has been laboured on here - the knock-ons killed us. Too much defending against a side too good not to take at least some of the oppotunites gifted them. Culprits (I know it's tough when they ALL battled so hard), but JD and Sam's distribution from Hooker were to blame for most of the errors. I would especially note the Murphy knock-on that ultimately cost us a try - it was a terrible pass from Sam, rather than Aaron's fault.
So - a game we had hopes of has gone away, but there are far too many positives to be down-hearted. It was a tremendous game of rugby, highlighted by the amazing Morton score and those who saw it will only be fuelled by the frustration that, without those bloody knock-ons, we could have won.
As it was Saints were better controlled than us and deserved the win.
PS - wouldn't mind seeing the Eastmond try again - it did seem like obstruction at the time and would just like to know if it was or not!
Bring on the Midgets!
no, blaymire was at fault..stood and waited to see where he was going. murphy would have smashed him!

| i was really proud of the guys effort on friday although at times we where poor with ball in hand lost count of amount of times we dropped ball on first or second taclke, and moore made a superb break and i think he diddnt know which way to pass and welans got him before he made his mind up.the morrison try was right in front of me and it looked like to a try to me and in second half players seemed to celabrate a try but nothing was given but was at other end so dont know what happend.what is others veiw on our second try i thought wellans should have gone for tripping murphy when he kicked on i know we scored but a trip is a trip.blaymire was at fault for eastmond try he stood and watched and feel murphy should have played at fb where he been playing so well with blanch coming in on wing and as i have said before morrison should be captain he does more to rally the boys than jd does and has much as love jd he wouldnt be in my starting line up at moment he not playing well enough.also does any body wonder whats going on at half time thats 3 out of 4 games where we have conceded first in second and all early on aswell

| I noticed that Flubber, was great to see. He'd have been out of order to have a go at them though, we'd just kept them out for something like 3 18 tackles on our own line!! Brough does seem to have matured and he's playing out of his skn at the minute, hope we can carry on our good form throughout the season and eventually convince him his future lies with the Wildcats, still think he'll go to Hudds though

| Sorry to butt in on your thread, thought you played very well and maybe if Brough hadn't have gone off you'd have taken the spoils. Anyway I watched the highlights and seriously thought Meli was in touch, when I reviewed it, it clearly shows his foot hits the whitewash miles before he touches down, what the TJ was looking at lord only knows especially when the ref asks him if it was okay?
I know they didn't have the benefit of the VR but surely the TJ can see his foot hit the whitewash??

| Thats a bit of a poor call to say the least but remember against Hudds at BV ( a wet game) a few years back us scoring with BOTH feet in touch, nobody complained that day.

He was in the process of realising that he had a long time still to go running up and down that touchline in front of the popular stand. We, however, were much further away, although the TJ was smirking to himself when he got behind the sticks (having said that, there were a few choice words directed at him that would have made most people blush!).

From a Saints perspective I really enjoyed the win on Friday - it was a return to a sort of open rugby that we generally did'nt see last year because of the wrestle-a-thon which the referees gave latitude to.
I thought Wakey defended well throughout the game. On the one hand they defended well to allow them to go 12 -0 againstt he run of play, and were resolute when Saints threatened to roll early in the second half. First 20 minutes I though Saints looked too 'training ground' drilled, but thankfully they clicked, although too much appears to depend on Pryce.
I would be encouraged as a Wakefield fan that the defence not only stood firm after so much ball was spilled, but that the side never tired also.
Towards the end of the game the big Wakefield forwards were making good yards which allowed them to get back into the game. Coach Kear has built a well ordered and drilled team at Belle Vue. tronc looks a good prop and I am unsure why the Leaguer gave him a 6 rating. He was more dangerous than that.
Hope Wakefield fans enjoyed the game, that both teams tried to give the ball some air, and that the ref finally allowed the attacking team more of a crack at the play the ball. Brough going off hurt you in my opinion.

a good assessment imo. it is true to say there was a period fromthe last 10/15 of first half and same into the second half where saints dominated and historically would have put 40+ on us. it's testament to the improvements we have made that we came away thinking what if, although it would have been harsh on saints if they hadn't have edged it.
