| Quote: Redscat "Great to see that most of the tries were created some distance from the line and not the usual forward barging over the line from the 10m line. Some great breaks during the game and Max Jowitt showing just what a class full back he is. Hood's best game since the trouncing of Cas last season. The addition of Dagger, Gale and the return of Big Dave have been really inspirational moves. There seemed to be an air of "We're all in this together lads". There may still be a glimmer of hope.'"
One of the pleasing things was seeing a fully committed and strong defence. Everyone moved up and everyone really put 100% into every tackle. It was very pleasing to see the effort and application of every single player. Added in with a pretty good execution we looked what I would say a ‘well drilled’ team.

| Fifita leadership, Max coming back, Dagger playing well at 6 and Mash simplifying the game plan have all helped us these past few weeks.
But ultimately for me, Gale is the difference to us suddenly playing fast open rugby.
From being a confused rabble, the same players are running good lines with confidence.
Getting a pass to hands so you don't have to check your speed suddenly gives everyone room. Max in particular benefitted from this.
Gale never stopped shouting telling Atoni where to stand and even calling Kershaw over from the far wing to take the ball in when some players were struggling.
And even the simple stuff like putting the ball in touch when we needed a second to regroup.
He defended well too but we need to protect him as he'll be targeted now we've shown our hand.

| It was nice to see moves that consisted of more than just one pass, I think we scored from the first.
Actually thought Lineham played well yesterday, some hard runs.

| Great to see the comments before the game ,it’s almost if our own fans want us to lose to, to prove their point . Dagger in the half’s , Kaye at loose , their both becoming outstanding utility players who can cover a multitude of positions with aplomb, and something that our club are finding indispensable in our small squad . Roll on Wigan I say next Fri ,prefer Sundays but Fridays are fine with me if we continue to play like that . Atoni finally showing some form , Hood having his best game this season , dagger having a wow and all orchestrated by Gale who rolled back the years and showed Sneed how it’s done . 1-17 take a bow that was a cracker and told Mash so when I bumped into him in marks n sparks this morning . Long long way to go but we might just nick it and will certainly do ourselves no harm playing like that .

| For me, given the difference since Gale has been on the pitch, the only way Lino gets back in now is either A) Gale is injured or B) he swallows his pride and agrees to play hooker. Got doubts about option B….

| One of the things that I noticed last night was that we spread the lineout from wing to wing marking them man for man. Unless I missed it, I never noticed an occasion when Salford created an overlap on either wing, The defence was excellent and we've even greatly reduced the handling errors. Well done lads. Keep it up.

| The difference I noticed was the number of players backing up the break, in one try there was half the team in support.

| A few comments have been made in reports about Salford missing a few - well that doesn’t wash with me at all.
How many games have we played this year with a full compliment - none!
The lads won last night because they out enthused Salford and credit to their coach who acknowledged that.

Salford broke away twice ,Max made two great tackels to stuff out the attack. Seems Max get stick when he missed a tackle .Was my man of match last night

| Watched the game on Trinity Tv this morning. Gale played the game in a dinner suit, what seems simple as a spectator is obviously a lot more demanding playing the game. His kicking game, organising and pass selection is something we really haven’t seen all season. He literally never shut up talking all game. I know Salford were missing Croft and Ackers, but we’re missing players too. 1-17 have had a huge confidence boost and our forwards ie Fifita and Atoni allowing our backs to play on the front foot. Pleasure to watch.

Someone quoted on RWB Army, that with two back to back improved performances, Atoni could be like a new addition.
Granted he's improved to where he was, but I think that was a bit of an over reaction, and maybe a bit premature.

I don't! - he's not been SL standard up to now and literally a passenger making the numbers up!
The last two games have shown we do have a SL quality player, so it is like getting a player we didn't
have before!
The big question is, can he keep it up? I hope so because having another quality prop, alongside Fifita, Bowden and Battye IMO, is the key to survival or not.
