All this talk of tidying up and make do and mend, whilst interesting, is letting YC and WMDC off the hook massively! If I recall correctly, the SoS ordered that in return for a massive chunk of land being taken out of green belt, that YCP were to provide a fit for purpose modern stadium for community use, with WT as the anchor tenant - when did that get downgraded to a group of volunteers installing second hand steel and a lick of paint?

If we get anything less than what was promised, we've been had - and anyone who accepts that is complicit in the chicanery of YCP, WMDC and SRW.

Can't argue with that.

That's the long game. YC clearly don't have any intention of funding a stadium so waiting for them to do so is futile. The council either don't think they can enforce them or, I suspect, don't particularly want to for fear of what will come out. To have a complete about turn from Box from a stance of a new stadium is nothing to do with them to a potential loan (should that scenario come to pass) is quite frankly astounding. Clearly someone doesn't want any awkward questions being asked.

If nothing else if the community/training facilities minus the new stadium are constructed up at NM with a fit for purpose refurb at BV then it's not a bad outcome from this mess.

I take the point - but it kind of is a bad outcome, because it's not what was promised, or mandated by the SoS.

Excellent point Bren and if the world was anything like "fair", there should be a community stadium at Newmarket.
Unfortunately, it just doesn't appear that this is likely to happen anytime soon and time is not "our" friend.

It's an utter disgrace that Yorkcourt, aided and abetted by WMDC, seem to be off the hook but maybe, we have to get what we can for now and hope to deal with Yorkcourt and WMDC at a later date ??

Ideal world bren, sadly we're not in one and the dodgy developer knows full well they can't be made to deliver anything they don't want to. Making the best of a bad situation by playing the legal card on the LA has got us to this point. We'll be waiting forever if we are holding our hopes on YC fronting up.

Seems to me that the SoS is a toothless tiger! What a waste of time and public money calling the scheme in was.

Whilst I appreciate and agree with Bren as regards the the dishonesty, chicanery, duplicity et al displayed by various parties we are where we are .
Do we hold out , and hold out and witness the demise of Trinity?
I for one ,after over 60 years supporting,am not prepared to do that.
We need to salvage what we can to ensure the progress being made in all other areas is complemented by a Stadium securing Superleague survival.

I think there's some middle ground between holding out for exactly in every detail what we were promised and doing Belle Vue up on the relatively cheap, over a few years with the help of volunteers. Hopefully, the Club is really having positive meetings with the Council and a plan is going to be announced soon that if not exactly what we asked for, is near enough to it that it enables us to watch RL in new surroundings with good corporate etc and hopefully we get some Community facilities sorted as well.
ATEOTD we'll just have to wait till the club can tell us something concrete -maybe the new chairman John Minards has managed to work some magic as far the Council is concerned and got somewhere.

So the new chairman Minards and Michael Carter(who inherited this mess) are complicit in all the wrongdoings if they salvage something from this wreckage?
Absolute nonsense.
Why don’t you tell them that ?
