Difference tonight: once again our inability to have a decent kick on the last tackle. Not once did we build pressure. Not once did we force a repeat set and not once did we kick for touch. I see no one comment on this week in and week out and it is blindingly obvious And our inability to deal with a short kick off. Can't remmeber the last time we won the ball back at a short kick off.. 24-18 and I turned to my mate and said cas will score and kick a drop goal to win. That's how predictable we are. Hapy we came close but can't hide the disappointment in the manner we lost. 6 points up with 8 mins to go against the best teams you need to be smarter and there is the difference.

Spot on Adam Harrison.

Our last tackle plays regarding kicks is dire.

I havent commented but noticed the same against Leeds.

Worrying thing is most come from Finn. His goal kicking is good but still far fom convinced on last tackle plays. Im a big believer in kick only as good as the chase, but it works the other way too.

Another worrying thing was the same player missed about 3 tackles in 5 minutes.

Is it a bit too much, for Finn to go round again next year

disagree with you turning on Liam Finn. You had very little territory on the second half due to your forwards running out of gas somewhat, Cas handling you a little better and above all you made more handling errors.
Finn has contributed far more to Trinity's great season so far then Sam Williams.

Finn can't do much when the opposition are on top of him as he takes the kick, this is a combination of being slower from dummy half and officials not properly enforcing when defending players are offside and only having to make up 8m instead of 10m.

aDavid fifita cost us another point= lazy lazy lay high tackle when we would of held out for a draw... that's 3points now cause of his his play. our errors in the second half were terrible that one off the first tackle from the scrum was the game changer
did sam Williams even play?

Liam Finn outplayed Sam Williams I thought for you. Didn't really notice Sam Williams was on the field for long parts.

Poor kicking against Leeds also cost us and Moon kicked us to death.

I agree. Sam Williams has to offer far more in the kicking department on the field in my opinion. His in play kicking is not good enough at the minute. Finn I can almost excuse because he has been very good in other departments but an import needs to be better at doing the basics of being a halfback. Being half decent at kicking is one of those requirements.

It wasnt so much an attack, more of an observation.

He has been good for us, but he does rarely turn opposing teams back three round on kicks.

His missed tackles last night could indicate that hes worn out. Wont he be 34 next season.

I did make a comment the other day regarding try assists about him.leading it. Those stats dont lie.

FWIW, I was expecting more from Williams as an NRL player, but just maybe he maybe starting to settle in.

I dont know if anyone saw last night that when we were struggling to get back into the game he was very vocal in trying to lift the team

Quote: jakeyg95 "Only decisions I thought at the time went badly against us were the two on one steal, which looked blatant even from the back of the north stand, and the Hadley offload followed by a Cas player fumbling round with it which was given as a Wakey knock on.'"

Same for me. The Hadley offload was a particularly shocking decision, there were actually two Cas knock-ons in that, the fumble on the ground and a Cas player touched it previously as Hadley offloaded. How Cas got the put in at the scrum from that I don't know!

The kick obstruction when England got penalised also looked harsh at the time, not seen the replay.

Guttes to lose that one, even though I went expecting a Cas win.
We seemed to have every 50/50 call go against us.

On the plus side, we gave Cas one hell of a dig and i their current form, we should be happy with that.

Yet another game of 2 halves and we were very unlucky not to get something from the game but, if we play like that for the rest of the season I'll be very happy.

There were some superb efforts, Tupou had one of his best games, Arona and Hadley are super consistent and we really rattled them. Also, Wood is getting better and better.

On to Widnes and hopefully back to winning ways.

Arona must've been nailed on for MotM had we won. The guy is a machine.

With Cas having the top slot, where do we need to finish to get the Super 8 game with them down at Belle Vue?
