| Just seen it on the official Northstanders Facebook page.
David Fifita has confirmed he will be staying in the UK next year, and is hoping to stay at Wakefield.
Fingers and toes crossed

Surely if he was staying put, he would have said so and not just that he was staying in the UK ??
Obviously, everyone would want him to stay at Trin and let's hope that he is still wearing red, white & blue next season, although the comment sounds like maybe he wants a better deal .

| Fiffita stated that he wanted to stay in Super League, preferably with WT, but it was down to the deal his agent comes up with.

| Let's hope Fifita has a better agent than Yaya Toure does.

| My wife has just been informed by another Hull KR fan that the club have now parted company altogether with Albert Kelly.
He maybe a loose cannon but I see it like this with him. Hes played under 2 coaches over here and it was Chessie who got the best out of him. On top of that JK has a good record with taming players who have baggage that play under him.

I'm really in two minds about Kelly. Reading the Hull KR forum doesn't make for good reading about the bloke at all. Something serious has obviously gone on and makes you think, do we need a liability like him playing for us, especially when he's a Quota spot as well. For all his skills, he's been consistently inconsistent for them this year, who seems to only play when he can be d.
Saying that if CC and Kear think they can get him fit and firing and able to get his head sorted out, I'll bow to their greater knowledge. Like you say CC has worked with him before and Kear is no stranger when it comes to dealing with difficult to manage players. Even if they think they can, it's another actually doing it and would definitely be a risk. Maybe getting something written into his contract such as , if he breaks whatever his problems seem to be, he can be dismissed straight away.

| Didn't Chester actually drop Kelly towards the end of last year and the start of this?

| I am a bit of the same view as you Shift Cat, to be honest.
Yes, maybe we could build some clause into a contract, I am sure we have done this before.
When he wants to be, he is a class act, very similar style to Miller though, but if you were to compare the two when they are both firing, I think Kelly is the better player. If we were to bring in a 2nd half back, but an organiser, this could be a good move.
No, Chester didn't drop him, he picked up a knock last year during the semi final I believe, which was worse than initially thought, and didn't play until the Challenge Cup Final, and pretty much remained a doubt until the day before. He played in Hull KR's first 3 games of the season, of which Chester was sacked just a couple of days following this.

I don't see why you would need to; if the contract is a decent one, it will already have provision for dealing with an employee who breaches the t's and c's.
It's a difficult one this - Kelly is undoubtedly talented, but he's really shat on HKR; if he is that flawed, can we really afford to take a chance on him missing half the season for various self-inflicted reasons?
