It's a no win situation. If TRB doesn't post there'll be people on here criticising him for NOT keeping fans updated. If he does post updates saying things in general terms like "progressing but no details yet" then he'll be criticised for doing it when he should have kept quiet. For ****''s sake let him just get on with it and do things in the way he wants (or more likely has to) and let's just support him and the rest of the team.

He's certainly got my full support because without him and the others we woudn't even be in a position where any progress was possible.

Quote: vastman "Basically no - and you know it.
It's not what he said it's how he said it, and I'm surprised you condone that.
We are all frustrated and I have had a recent run in with TRB myself. However there is a world of difference between that and making it personal as gower did.
It's not that he's totally wrong - he isn't - He's not above questioning but at least keep it polite, surely that's fair.'"

The problem between reading something and hearing it first hand can be very misleading and sometimes taken out of context as in this case, I thought your post about trolling was a generalisation against all of us what had spoken out about our misgivings regarding the lack of information and not of Gower as an individual, which rather proves my point, perhaps you could sense some personal issues with him but in all honesty I thought it was to the point but fair and that's why I included him in my reply.

Quote: vastman "Also strikes me as odd (and I don't wish to fall out with you over it) but why is the heat directed at TRB and why is it TRB's propaganda. At the end of the day he's just a fans representative, Michael Carter and Rodney Walker are far bigger players in this than TRB so why are people not venting their spleen on them?

I will however make one more plea to TRB - stop posting on this subject until you have some real news, good or bad - at the moment everything you say will be open to misinterpretation. Regarding Carter and Walker, I'm quite sure that were these people available for comment on the subject, that TRB's life would a lot less stressful on here at least, unfortunately there not but TRB is and whether it's by accident or design he has set himself up as the spokesman on here, and rightly or wrongly people see him as the man in the know, he clearly does not have a mandate to come on here and tell us anything other than what he's been told to say hence my descriptive view as being propaganda, as you say it might be better if he only spoke out when there is something to say, less frustrating all round and deny's us antagonists any opportunity to vent our spleen icon_wink.gif

It does seem rather contrary that TRB feels compelled to give a carefully worded update that basically says nothing, whilst Michael Carter is in the media talking about making an offer on BV and stating that is his preferred option.

Surely Carter is looking at a possible personal business investment that will give him an even better return if Newmarket ever happens. He can't really lose can he?

Yeah exactly, struggling to understand the mindset of people who can't resist the urge to snipe at someone who is just letting us know that the process is still continuing, even if he can't give a full account of it. Surely it's better to have that than nothing at all. icon_stupid.gif

Surely it is better to agree to disagree and stop your petty bickering, we've all had our say why not leave it at that till there's something to discuss c020.gif

Not interested in starting an argument with anyone, it's you who keeps quoting my comments and wringing your hands at them. Or are you just upset I don't have a stadium update for you? icon_wink.gif

Ok, I have not been watching this one so closely but we seem to be falling out over nothing here.

If TRB chooses to post details of what he is doing or not, it's his choice. By all means comment on it but don't start an argument about what he didn't post. I'll take that as trolling/stalking/bullying and you can assume a warning.

Equally if someone wants to post that they would like a different option to Newmarket or Belle Vue new or old, let them do it. As long as they are not accusing or unfairly criticising another poster.
To help, [i 'I don't want to go to Newmarket[/i' is fine.... '
"[iHeaven forbid you damage your position! Given that you've been in more positions than Jenna Jameson, it's hard to believe there are any positions left for you to assume...

I'm sure I speak on behalf of most when I say that as a Wakefield fan I am totally bored of every "update" you provide on the subject[/i... is not ok.

I'll follow procedure from now on. You'll get a warning and if that doesn't work, you'll take a rest from the Wakefield forum.
Let's assume what has been said is enough for now. Don't continue the petty bickering.

Hy guys, I'm fine. I'm just a fan, but somehow got embroiled in all this and I understand all of the points raised. No issue for me. In fairness I only ever give a reply when someone is asking and I don't think it would be fair to leave them hanging, even if all I confirm is ......!

You all care, as do I, so we have that much in common! icon_smile.gif

Seems an odd stance to take, am I dreaming this or did MC state in the last 12 months that staying at BV was a definite no?

He said that staying at BV under the current circumstances at that time was a no.

Since then there has been a reduction in rent, the ground put up for sale with a known asking price, the club becoming debt free...and perhaps movement in the game of chess with WMDC and Yorkcourt.

Maybe there is a potential funding stream now, that wasn't there before?

I've a feeling the stadium trust will ask YC to stump up the cash for belle vue but i don't think CM is the kind of guy to do so. He'll tell them to go and jump as this has nothing to do with the new development. At the end of the day he's a business man, he's never had any interest in Wakefield trinity and he never will. He's got what he wanted with planning for building at Newmarket and I don't see him giving away 600k from the money he makes out of it all. Hell bank the lot stick two fingers up at Wakey and laugh at the council for being so inept and not producing a watertight document that would have given Wakefield a home. I believe the council did this on purpose too and I doubt very much there'll be any loopholes with regard to the building works to the east of the city.

On a interview today, Michael Carter revealed, that the developer (Yorkcourt) have in conjunction and alignment with the council and the club submitted a bid for belle vue.
Which they are hopeful will be accepted.
If they are, they would want to look at purchasing the superbowl site...
It is thought that if we were to "give" up newmarket this would give the developer more land to build on and sell, which more than cover the cost of Superbowl...

Would it leave some spare for re-development?

This may have flown under the radar, but offers hope that we may have a full time home, whether it is at Newmarket or not.

This would be excellent news in my opinion.
If no money for re-development couldn't there be some sort of fund raising efforts to achieve the necessary money?

Ownership of the ground could well interest a "sugar daddy" type investor who may put money into the club knowing that there is a saleable asset which is going to increase in value rather than depreciate.
