Finn was one of the best players on the field against Leeds on Boxing Day wasn't he and controlled the game? Give the lad a chance..
Trinity need to be competitive in the forward battle which it sounds they weren't against Cas.
The best half back in SL wouldn't have much chance at that level if the pack weren't winning the ruck area and making decent yardage and quick play the ball.

Very commendable attitude if I may say so, where you are off the mark though is in assuming that I'm making an assumption that you have the same insular attitude as me, but you did get one thing right though when you assumed I'm not interested in any other club. HTH. |

I was saying this to a friend of mine, Castleford seemed to be puttin plenty of moves where it seemed we didn't even try any. I hope this is the case anyway, we'll find out eventually.

One thing I am now sure of, is that anyone who is not wholly a Wakefield fan cannot come on here and voice any level of criticism even though it is meant with the best of intentions.
You obviously wont agree, but it is obvious that other than Wakey fans are not welcome, so in future I don't think I will bother trying to join in with a thread with a title such as this one.
Maybe if Wakefield are flying high in second place (Cas being top - lol) our views may coincide. Until then, best of luck for the coming season - Byee! |

Calm down sarge people can get a little bit twitchy, it's always healthy to have opinions from outside our bubble, keep posting. You shouldn't feel that you're being hounded out mate, we got knobs coming on here from other teams, and conversely we have our own knobs (you know who you are).  |

I don't think it matters whose board you go on, you don't need any invitation but you came on here and used your very first post on RL Fans that's assuming you don't have another account and promptly criticised Liam Finn, what do you want a round of applause for having a pop at one of our players, what a pity ![]()

Spot on matey. I’m surprised the super coaches on here didn’t spot it.
I don’t think either of us are suggesting Smith sent them out to play quite that poorly. However I suspect he told them to treat it very much as a training exercise and not risk any injuries. The fact that Cas were clearly up for it didn’t help the score line.
One of the few positives from last season is that we will in the minds of many opposition players be considered easy beats. You’re only as good as your last game and none of our recent games have been good. I’d much rather it be this way than teams preparing for us thinking we are good - it’s our only special weapon - certainly early season.
Once a team enters a game with the mindset that the opposition is easy it’s very hard to rectify that mentality in 80 minutes if they prove otherwise.
Might not work with Leeds, Wigan or Saints - fair doo’s might not even work with Cas but I can think of a few teams it might be an advantage.
Smith will know we only have so many good games in us and I’m sure he is wise enough to know when and where - and a friendly at Cas isn’t it.
We need to play well 8 times this season IMHO and if with a little luck they all produce wins we might just take 8th spot. Doesn’t sound many but from a base 3 last season it will take a vast improvement. We really need to keep our powder dry and as many players as fit as possible.
Of course it could just be that we are still poor but I'm still feeling that we have improved significantly - fingers crossed.
