I agree. The fighting is far worse on an individual basis and I hope we get rid of those people but it is a flash point that not everybody involved intended. And also it's often outside the ground which is hard to control.
The smoke bombs were preplanned, whether they knew how wrong it was I don't know, but it was planned all the same.
Why they thought it would be well received I don't know.

But they are not similar. One was totally the fault of a clubs administration, the other is guilt by association and a fairly tenuous one at that.

Thank you. I've publicly predicted we will be playing you in the middle 8s, but I've also predicted you'll kick our ass thus exposing the chance of promotion to be entirely fake. I'm a treasure trove of cup half emptyness.
p.s. I had some rhubarb last night does that make me technically a trin fan?

You still have that glow of past glories about you so not yet. When you've had a full season of disappointing results and nearly but not quites, then you'll have the drawn and weary look of a Wakefield Trinity fan.....with the different glow of "it must be better than last year" about you.

I've already stated earlier in this thread that taking or attempting to take a flare/firework/smokebomb (they are all Classed the same) in to a sports stadium in the UK is a specific crime and is punishable by up to the maximum jail term of 3 months, also the letting off of the afore mentioned devices in a sports stadium also carries the same punishment, they are specific criminal acts and therefore should not be belittled or ignored and the full weight of the law needs to be implemented on the offenders if their identity is established. The FA have a standard 3 year ban in place for anyone who is caught doing this at a footy game and I would suggest the RFL and WTW take a similar stance.
As for the fighting, it's not a clear cut, it will be 50/50 no matter who started it and unless one individual decides he wants to press specific charges against anyone else then the police/cps are unlikely to take further action, which makes it difficult for either Cas or Wakey to take/justify any action against these people.
IMO considering the nature of the finish and the 10700 crowd, for there to be one incident of unrest is a victory, it could have been far worse and I think alcohol will clearly of played its part img the scuffle. The smoke bombs is premeditated stupidity and even tho it was quite fun to happen, it is against the law and needs to be punished to prevent a further incident that could be a flare or firework that although are classed the same for this kind of incident, they are clearly more dangerous than a smoke bomb.

Now you may well have grounds for leniency but that certainly isn't one of them.'"
Tell me who was the victim of the smoke bomb silliness
Tell me were the victims of Bradford's financial incompetence.
See the two things are totally incomparable no matter how hard you try
On another note, let it go, your clubs better off in the long term and you should be glad you got relegated.

I completely disagree (as do others above) but poptart has asked that we leave it there so that's that.

I know reading the Casforums that people know who the Cas fans who were attacking/attacked Wakey fans are as they've been named, get it sorted by the people in authority, simple.'"
This.

| No problems in the ground around us. I always consider the toilets between the main stand and Railway End as a potential flashpoint (not in that way) as the two sets of supporters meet in a very confined environment whilst standing in urine. However, all was good natured and people waited patiently and managed to resist just doing it on the floor, despite the usual over-flowing meaning they might as well.
There were a small group of fans taking celebrations a bit far walking up Wheldon Road after the game, deliberately jumping in front of those in Castleford shirts and dancing around singing something about an army. Fortunately, they made their mistake early by approaching a man in a yellow shirt from behind and shouting the said 'army' song in his ear. Shame it turned out to be a certain ex-player (for both clubs) who soon put them in their place! They walked the rest of the way a bit more quietly!
As for those who decided to bring smoke "bombs" - idiots.

| The smoke bombs were bad and I agree with any punishment they see. As for fighting, also bad but for me segregation is not the answer. Just creates a sour atmosphere in the interfaces between fans which only breeds and cultivates more bad will. How often have you been to a match, stood with away fans and enjoyed the chat, even the bit of banter that goes with the match? To lose that for all the fans because some doilums had one too many. It is not football and hopefully we won't see the farce that they go through weekly dividing up the fans.

| Segregation, we are not football, let us keep some traditions. I have noticed we are probably one of the most regulated supporters, having plastic bottles confiscated at the gate etc. This is no longer the club I have supported for over 40 years and what next a plastic card which is designed to speed up entry but just in case can we arrive early.
In addition to the plastic card for me to gain entry to my seat in the stand i have to carry an additional paper card. I presume if this less than substantial document is destroyed or ruined I will not be able to enter the stand with the more durable plastic version.
We are RL supporters I wonder wether by trying to copy football with segregation we are now attracting that type of supporter

imo it's gradually crept in more as Football have got rid of the vast majority of hooliganism through banning orders, bigger prison sentences, better Police Surveillance and for some reason a few are choosing to take their thuggery into RL, which compared to Footbal is much less Policed and controlled. I also think the binge drinking culture in society as a whole as been at the route cause of many flash points in RL the past few years. Not that people haven't always liked to drink but there seems to be more people that want to get absolutely legless, instead of knowing their limitations and drink accordingly.

| RL fans standing side by side having a laugh then shaking hands after the match is an ideal scenario but sadly it's becoming rarer. Although there is no official segregation most grounds have away stands so a generation of fans don't know how to mix. I feel often feel safer when we have our own stands especially when taking young children, imagine on Sunday if all the HKR fans decide to stand in the north stand its a flash point we can do without and other clubs don't have that problem due to designated away stands. It should be that RL grounds have designated away areas for the bulk of the support but if you have family or friends who support other clubs and you want to stand/sit with them you can.
