Of our first 5 games this year - the comparative game last season we lost!

Bradford away - last season - poor - this season - awful
Hull KR home - last season - frustrating - this season - competitive
London away - last season - bloody awful - this season - decent
Hudds home - last season - lost to kids - this season - in it to the death
Catalans away - last season - blown away - this season - in it to the death.

Overall - last season - 0 points - this season - 4 points

So, whilst it could have been more, we are generally much better placed than last season and improved overall in all of the last 4 games. I guess the question is then, why are we not able to make the most of this run because we will have periods when we aren't as competitive and when perhaps our opponents are sharper - with both out last 2 opponents coaches slating their own performances despite winning!!!

Not concerned as yet, but we need to be on guard for a Salford side with the rockets fired up them as next Sunday could be a defining moment - one way or another - for the season to come.

One final point - although we haven't heard his interview in full - it does seem as though Agar is looking for external excuses and I would feel happier if he bemoaned the poor discipline and handling of our own side - the things we do have some control over - rather than the refereeing.

Big week ahead IMO.

Quote: deeHell "I think everyone should go a bit easy on Foxy. Since he come back he has generally been consistent enough to justify his place. Everyone has a bad game and everyone has right to wrong a bad performance. For me hes has a couple more games till Lynn is back to right himself. Consecutive performance like that shouldn't be tolerated.'"

Agree. Also would question the decision to drop Wilkes and put Trout in for a game against a big physical team when all due respect to Donny, he hasn't being playing at the same level of intensity and was asked to play out of position

I don't think he had any choice after Wilke's performance against Shudds.
Hopefully Fox will be similarly dropped for next weeks game.

When you look at the last 2 games, we've gone toe to toe with 2 sides who are sitting at the top of the league. With a bit more composure, discipline and the rub of the green, we could quite easily have been top of the league ourselves this weekend.

Don't panic!

would think so if knocked out will have a head test this week to see if ok. Think if knocked out they don't let them back on as a precaution. In NRL they don't let them back on as a rule now.

Anyway, a win next week would mean 3 from 6. I'd be happy with a 50% win ratio by the end of the season, it would put us in or very close to the top 8 so it's not all doom and gloom!

On another note, good to see Ben as the top try scorer and metre maker at the moment!

Not top tryscorer anymore icon_wink.gif ( and he never actually was, just joint top)

Bang on the mony King Street.

A little bit more luck and we really could have been top.
On Saturday, left with only 2 fit subs, it's no wonder we were knackered and on reflection we should be giving the boys some credit for taking it to the wire.
We are all disappointed with the result, especially after flying into a 16-0 lead, but a win this coming weekend and we are back on track.

We need to get right bhind the club and the team and the one sure thing is thet we are not far off being a top 6 team, which is fantastic.

Come on Trin.

I think I put something similar in my post, however I find it really frustrating because these are games that we gave away rather than were beaten in. What's important is that we take the positive things that we're clearly doing into the next few games, and it's Agar's job to get this into the players heads this week.

On paper we surely must have enough to beat Salford. Who knows what's going on there though, I wish Alan Hunte good luck with his tenure there but hope he gets off to a losing start this week.

Having watched the highlights on SLFT, I'm dubious about Blanchy's try in the corner; it looked to me like Cockayne had done enough to put him into touch.

Hey ho - a disappointing collapse, but we've given two of the fancied teams in the comp a real scare in the last two weeks; it will be interesting to see if we plug up that leaky corner with Foxy running the kicking tee on next week.

Pretty gutted with the result, especially as this weekend I had picked out a treble of Widnes (2/1), London (7/4) and us (9/2) all off scratch.

The treble was 44/1 and was rubbing my hands at 16-0 up!

Glad someone else thought that too. I've watched it about 10 times by now and I still don't think he grounded the ball before his knee touched the whitewash. Was surprised the video ref gave it (thought the fact that catalan had that other try ruled out might have played a part).

I think you are right. The Video Ref (I think it was Ian Smith) had previously disallowed a try for a knock on I think and and he gave the benefit of the doubt as it looked like his knee hit the line at the same time as the ball was grounded.
