My younger brother plays in his team and he is fine. He has recovered all feeling in his body, and walked away with just a badly sprained neck. Thanks for your concerns!

Be worth it when they're playing at Wembley next year mate .

Young Spongebob thinks he'll be playing , but i doubt it to be honest , it's gonna take a very good team to stop Cas HS getting there with the pick of the Panthers & Lock lane teams - maybe they might be too knackered when they play Ketty a046.gif

that lads been on my mind this week and its great to hear hes just come away with a sprained neck.

you can't help feel for lads when they get caught up in a injury that needs medical attention. very unnerving when you now your son is out there

i spoke to the sports teacher last week about how it works and basically all the teams in the wakey schools play each other then the better sides are guarenteed a home tie in the yorkshire cup,the 4 semi finalists then qualify for the carnegie challenge cup,he asked which schools i thought would be strong and the two i said were outwood grange and kettlethorpe of which he said dont worry about kettlethorpe cos they dont enter which i thought was quite odd and has we know outwood like cas high is a sports academy and what with the stanley lads will be pretty strong too.

well 3 down 1 to go for this week with todays yr7 school game finishing cas high 30 airdale high 12.

a bit of a stop start affair with cas starved of the ball for long periods trying to play too much rugby, so a bit to work on but 6 tries and 6 different scorers shows the strength in depth which they have.airdale who were made up of virtually all townvilles team plus 1 or 2 from fryston battled hard and scored two lovely tries.

Ossett Academy yr 8's beat Kettlethorpe today, 20-12. I can't give any details as I didn't see the game - my son forgot to tell me they were playing. icon_confused.gif

keep plugging away mate only 1 softener for you i guess looking at fixtures is lock lane also play their 4th game , very unfair that you end up playing first 2 away against two strong teams.

on the bright side i guess your getting the toughies out the way , but then again i can not see any easy games.

according to the young un .

shame so many games kick off at same time on same day but at least i only got wet once umbrella.gif

waiting to hear spongies (oe AN other!) report from eastmoor as a little birdie tells me crigg have won. icon_ask.gif eusa_think.gif by a narrow 2 points .

Aye , we won ......just !

Ended up winning 20-18 in the end . It didn't start well last night when one of our key lads had to pull out with a fractured hand caused by trying to do back-flips (!)& then 5 mins into the game two of them collided under a high ball resulting in one carted off to hospital ( he's ok , but big headache tonight though !) and the other limping his way through the second half & nursing a knackered jaw .
Hats off to everyone of them though as the team had to be completely re-jigged with lads having to play in strange positions and come back from 6 down . They looked like the game was sewn up at 20-6 , but when Eastmoor scored an excellent try in the corner with 15 mins left ,but then one of our lads had a brain freeze and decided to try & trip him up & was quite rightly sent off . Thought that would be it to be honest & they'd blown it , but they only let one more try in ( which was in the corner)and they hung on .....PHEW !
The referee was attrocious by the way , both ways . Don't like slagging off young refs , but he was really , really poor . I know they try their best , but he didn't even look like he could be d .Made some terrible decisions tbh , seemed very easily swayed by the spectators/ players .

sounds like a good game icon_cool.gif , was it dvd as it may be worth getting a copy.

seems to be something about the moor ground and crigg kicking out/tripping . i would 2nd guess peeps will think its how the lads normally play but i know its not.

Stanley Rangers U14s 22 Normanton Knights U14s 34

Its always hard to post when you have been beaten even more so when the game seemed in the bag at 22 -6 quarter way into the second half.

What was to come you had to stand back in amazement as Normanton ripped Stanley apart.
The heads just went down and there was no response at all. icon_sad.gif
We was short of 4 key players in total but that shouldn't be an excuse, the Knights played some bloody good rugby and showed some decent passing keeping the ball alive and they deserved that win

we fell well short of our expectations and will aim to correct this

After the game talking to the coach and complimenting him on theirs side's great performance I told him I would write as it happened, I also invited him to come on the board and promote their side too
I don't buy into that you don't own a computer icon_wink.gif

eusa_clap.gif well done Normy Knights in bringing us down to earth after beating Hunslet Parkside
