With regard to the thread title, I can't understand why JK had to say anything until the player was signed, sealed and delivered.

Would hazard a guess that there was never anyone in the pipeline - that was going to "excite us".
Merely propaganda from the club to generate interest and keep the faithful happy,quickly followed by the release of our only half decent half back for free.
The talk of signing an exciting player was nothing more than a diversionary tactic to try and keep the supporters happy.

Its plain to see(and i dont blame the club)the club is going to make savings where ever and when ever they can this season in preparation for life outside super league from 2012.
I wouldnt be surprised to see more players leave before end of season and the club operate on the smallest possible squad that they can.

I think the signing in question was Kyle Eastmond and it was a done deal until Lomax and Wheeler got injured the same week that JK made this announcement.

But if it was him and it had already fallen through why release Jeffries?

6/7 May Bradford sign BJ,we had 4/5 days of still guessing who the "exciting " signing would be,then 12 May Kear announces theres no urgency to sign this "exciting"player --- just letting us down slowly!!!!!!!

First of all I think the two are totally unrelated in terms of the deals done!

The club was approached by Bradford in what appears to have been a move completely independent of Wakefields efforts to sign another half back.

Wakefield, who I believe are in the mood to revamp the squad irrespective of the league we end up in, saw the chance to free up salary space for no other reason than it gives us more scope for recruitment.

The good form of Wildie, Hyde, Davey (which releases Lee to play 7)and Lee must have offered some comfort that if we let BJ go we were still well covered at halfback, whilst not disguising the fact that long term we need to recruit some craft and creativity.

Also i don'y buy the fact that we are trying to save money. My reason for this is that why would we bring Jarred Hickey half way round the world if we are trying to save money? We could have easily not signed him and this would have saved us a few bob. Maybe i will be accused of being rose-tinted but i still believe that the club have something up their sleeve.

I'm still to be convinced about Hyde at stand off to be honest, he has an awful lot to learn. Thing is he needs to do it pretty damn quick now, lets hope he steps up to the plate because we are short of options if he doesn't.

So is there any truth in the rumour that Korki is on his way as well?

I have heard the Korky rumour and if he did go it wouldn't surprise me because we are bringing Hickey in. I would personally only let Korky go if we know that we can keep Amor for the rest of the season.
