| Quote: bren2k "I totally agree; the whole culture of the club needs a radical change and I don't think Ted and Co are the right people to do that. We desperately need a wealthy backer who can bring not just money, but a significant amount of business, marketing & PR expertise - bit of a Dragon's Den scenario. The current set-up is simply too amateurish and corner-shop like to deliver what's required; sad but true.'"
What ever you think about Ted and Co they are working to get us up to Newmarket. If they can do that they will have probably done as much if not more than anyone who has run our club for the past 130 + years. Ted and Co are also knocking on a bit and in fairness to them I don't think they want to hang on forever.Let them just to get us into Newmarket then make sure they hand over the club to someone else who is capable to take us forward from there.

All the Sugar Daddy’s are in it because they are fans of their club, it costs them a small fortune.
We would need someone who wouldn’t miss a couple of million quid a year, and avidly supports Wakefield - He / She doesn’t exist.'"
I have it on good authority that every SL club makes a loss, so I'm not under any illusion that a wealthy benefactor who's prepared to operate the club as a vanity project is a tough ask. Maybe the stadium could solve that one too - we might be a more attractive prospect when we're bedded in at NM?

| Quote: Sandal Wild Cat "We're talking about a community trust set up by people with Wakefield Trinity at heart, not the local council. That's the difference buddy, do you really think a group set up to secure the future of our club would rob it blind? The players, sponsors and fans will flock when we get this built. FACT.
This is exactly the kind of attitude that so concerns a number of people in the district. The stadium and its facilities are supposedly being built for the whole of the district.......not WTW. Also, if I'm not mistaken (please correct me if I'm wrong) the funds to build it are being provided under the guise of it being for the whole district. With this in mind I'd personally feel much happier if no-one who has any connections with any club who may or may not play out of the stadium has any involvement in setting rent tariffs etc.

SWC may miss the point a little, though the sentiment is correct.
The Trust is not necessarily Wildcats-centric, but is undoubtedly not WMDC-centric.
Any stakeholder e.g. Wildcats, WMDC, or other organisation, will have a part to play in the Community Trust.
It is there for the benefit of all involved.

| The community trust and Trinity will have a business plan just like anyone who will be using the stadium. It is for the use by anyone in the City and district and will have to be affordable for the tennents to use it

The opportunity is there for yourselves to take advantage, it's in a nice neutral location equal distance between Cas and Wakey central! Of course sharing at Glasshoughton was been as a compromise to Cas

And where's your money coming from? To build a stadium you need many millions - and it has to come from somewhere.
You have chosen to build a stadium, then latterly decided to add 'Community' into the title in the hope that it makes it acceptable for outside input - principally from WMDC (although by way of the secured land loan). Without it being 'Community' you wouldn't get that money, hence the change it tac.
Ours has been 'Community' from it's concept. It was never the intention to have the club own it, and I doubt Sir Rodney and co would have touched it with a barge pole if it was. We were tasked with forming a 'Community Trust' as the 'Special Purpose Vehicle' into which public funds can be placed for the public benefit. Somewhere down the line you will find that Cas have set / will set one of these up as well.
Our funding package is well known in general - i.e. the loan from WMDC / the planning gain from Yorkcourt and then the associated funding bodies. Obviously, as a 'Community' facility, if other parties are interested in taking up residence in the facility then we will a) have to amend plans to incorporate them and b) be able to attract further funding. This is a long way from getting something for nowt - it is merely OUR WAY of putting the funding package together.
Cas clearly seem to think that they have THEIR WAY of funding, but their own contribution will be quite small in relation to the overall cost - so perhaps we should claim that it is you that is getting it for 'next to nowt'?
Good luck!

Half way between both teams supporter base is as neutral as you can get. We are prepared to move 4 miles away from the City Centre but Cas it seems are not prepared to do the same (just yet). Would you like to define to me what you call neutral then?
If the mythical funding package for Glasshoughton never appears I wouldn't be surprised if Dickie Wright tries to sell Newmarket to you using the same arguments as myself

And going around in the circles continues. TRB, you know full well where the money is coming from and so does everybody else. RW listed them on Look North in the recent interview, however, I notice you negated that to continue your argument that we have no money.
As for our contribution, approximately half, if not more from the sale of Wheldon Rd? I'd say that's more than a small contribution.
