The only way I can see GH happening is if Newmarket gets the chop. I believe you need the funding eramarked for Newmarket plus some more. Also if NM was only a year behind then Barnsley would still be the better option for us IMHO.

Words is the jungle sale will go through shortly, and we've had funding for a part build for a while, so it looks like GH will be built either way.
None of us know how long newmarket will take but with no progress possible till sept and alot of stages to get through, plus the delays that happen with all major building projects, it seems to me that newmarket is about 18 months off yet. Not claiming to be in the know, just basing that on what i have read on here from wakey fans.

Wouldn't bother me if work had started on Newmarket. Saints are playing at Widnes next year, after all, and so there would be a precedent. On the other hand, if work had started on Newmarket, why not go somewhere else completely for a year? Elland Road? Oakwell?
The fear is that we won't be able to rely on ifs and possibilities.

So if the funding is all going to be there, why are the council so twitchy about Newmarket? If one is a fait accompli, get on with the other.

We cant know why the council are so twitchy, maybe they dont think newmarket will be ready in time?
As for the funding apparently a chinese company have now bought the hicksons site and are removing the chemical licence which is the only thing that has been stopping the sale of WR. Heard a whisper the other week and took it with a pinch of salt but now hearing the same thing on here from cas and wakey fans.

I still believe cas can build the stadium without wakefield.
Some cas fans may have said wakey can foxtrot oscar, as some wakey fans will have said about cas, doesnt mean those people represent there club though does it.
Some wakey fans were cocksure about thornes park too, doesnt make a differance to the present though does it?
We have been asked to share, but no one, for all people may claim, knows what the councils exact reasons are, it could be that the council saw that NM couldnt be finished in time and tried to force wakeys hand.
Whatever happens i hope that wakey can sort something out and stay in super league.

From what I have heard / read it seems that planning permission for NM could have been submitted once outline permission was granted and finished for 2012 (government calling in not taken into account). Since it sounds like its the council that has moved the outline planning hearing back I dobut its for that reason.

I would read the statutory statements that are rlListed Hererl, this is why there will have been delays

| All trinity fans can do is hope that some way the Newmarket Stadium can get done, hopefully with WMDC backing but if not without them. But all we can do is guess what will happen until there is more information either from Trinity or the Council, until then everyone is going to be going round in circles.
