Personally don’t mind this, Booth is behind Jowitt and Rourke at full back and Pratt, Scott and Hall at centre. Bringing in a talented young British winger is a smart move. Johnstone has had previous injury issues, Walmsley is unproven at SL and Russel has also had injury issues. It provides competition for places and cover should we have injuries.

Agree with this , add myers into the equation as well. We may also get the best deal out of this but only time will tell.wing is the position slightly down on so I quite like it.

You could argue potentially, we need a high-class one more than a centre or FB. We have Johnstone who's world-class, then we have Walmsley who's quota and never played SL level and many people doubt whether he's good enough to be a quota wing. Then we have Russell who's towards the back end of his career but will do a decent job. This kid's a 6ft 5 age group international, his ceiling seems massive. If it happens it doesn't appear we're getting the rough end of any deal IMO and tbf Powell and Mills recruitment hasn't gone wrong so far.
Tbh Powell's mates with Noah's dad, it's part of why he brought him over from Wire, so there must be a good reason he'd be willing to let him him go after steadily bringing him on since he arrived and has talked highly of him.
Hull KR were making moves for him anyway and seemed to value him more than we do, given our relative strength in his position. He's still going to be out on loan at Hunslet even if he goes according to the article so Hull KR see him the same as we did, someone for 2026.

I think a few of you are trying to justify the move, which is fine if it makes you feel better, but I can't help feeling that if Carter had done this deal some of you justifiers would be in the very least slightly perturbed. Maybe I'm wrong. Don't get me wrong, lets maintain the positivity, but lets not think that Mills and Powell's poop don't stink. I think Booth had an X factor and we know little about the new bloke. If he turns out to be Dom Young in 2 years (if we still have him) then you are welcome to re-birth this message.

For me if Ellis didn't think something was right for the club, he wouldn't do it, we are assuming this has been instigated by KR, yet we don't know that.

Two very highly rated young players, wouldn't be a disaster if it happened IMO, how many of us have seen this lad play? Again, I'm trusting the judgement of the coaches we have at the club because they haven't yet given me a reason not to.

The point being, those that think it's OK, clearly don't think he has the X Factor that you see.
I liked him and I think he has potential, but he was not getting anywhere near first team this year without some major injuries.
If there was a possibility of him going to Rovers next year anyway it seems like good business.

I can see a logic behind this and so far been very impressed with our signing strategy over last 18 months, I suspect that he wasn’t going to get any first team rugby this season and probably very little following year. So perhaps he wanted away as his contract expires at end of season he could have left any way. We have 2 top young centres in Scott and Pratt , a very experienced full back in jowit , with Rourke hall and Croft as back up. On the wings we are a bit thin especially as Russel is coming to end of his career. Is the kid from hull kr a great prospect - no idea as I’ve never seen him play I suspect mills Powell etc have seen a fair bit of him so I’ll cede to their knowledge

Even wing we have TJ, Walmsley, Russell and Delaney. Though with this signing I’m not sure where that leaves Delaney who has been in first team a few years but hasn’t appeared to break through.

As for Booth, him signing for Trinity has improved him as a player no doubt. He has potential to be a good quality full back, centre or utility man. Not sure about the x-factor as I think it’s going too far at the moment but he has pace and certainly potential. I completely get that if he’s leaving in 2026 and we have an option of bringing in another young lad with potential it’s not necessarily a bad move.
