I get that and it makes sense. However the bulk of the plan was not the shop or a cafe, but a grill and sports bar and I see no reason to cancel that. Something has to be done with the old clubhouse, it has a great deal of earning capacity. It’s also now a bit of an eyesore, ironic when you consider that two years ago it was the best part of the ground. We shall see, and as the structure is sound I don’t think that whatever we do to it will break the bank.

| For me it is best to make non money earning areas in to money makers first.
Putting the shop and a cafe where the other building is, is new income. And might mean you can let Ridings one go.
Whereas Rollin Shack and old club house is still usable, so although in need of an upgrade, would be second on my list.
I guess it depends what you can make out of it.

| A sports bar and grill would be great. Somewhere to go for a few beers and watch a great selection of sports like S/L-NRL -NFL- NBA -UFC -Boxing. There is nowhere in Wakefield that does that properly and tbf I’d rather go there then into Wakefield.

Do you mean in Rollin Shack or Instead of the old building?
I think the old building location makes it a brand opportunity. So putting a bar there might not work. But the opportunity of a sports bar is something to look at I agree.

| I thought the sports bar and restaraunt with sky terrace was on the cards to start this off season replacing the rollin shack and maybe even more space in the south east corner. As far as I know the plans for that haven’t changed. That said I think he was going to include a club shop in that south east corner.
Now that the purchase of the other building I suspect means the club shop could now go there opening up more space in the Soutg east.
There is scope to probably move things around but there was mention that Ellis would like to improve gym facilities for players. There is only so much space to do this.
Could the newly squired building become a player gym/performance centre instead? With the club shop continuing to be in the south east with the new grill?
I’m not sure if the footprint would be big enough for a gym in the newly acquired building but if there is then it could be an option without affecting others final plans for south east.
I would guess with this going on that we any work on the west or north would be after next season?
It’s more important to get the player facilities and the club earning more revenue off match day so that the club becomes more sustainable and profitable.
Plus with the grill and bar it is effectively on match day another hospitality facility.
There’s so much that could be done but I’m sure Ellis has his priority lists.

| I'm sure projects such as a Sports Bar and Grill are welcoming attractions for the Trinity faithful but they also have to make money too and Matt is nobody's fool when it comes to business .
Match days will be busy but what about the off season , the weekday trade and so forth ?
Very hard business is Hospitality today at the best of times .

It was Matts idea. It’s not a fan recommendation or wish to have. I’m sure he's considered all the factors in such projects too.
He could always change his mind and the need for player gym facilities may take precedence as was originally planned a 2 floor gym in the south east.
I’m pretty sure it was already stated that this bar and grill would be started as soon as the season is over.

| The kitchen place looks such a second rate building that demolition would probably be the first action. That gives more options to what could replace it.
Maybe just flatten it and extend the car park.

Just my opinion and personal preference but I'd love to see the creation of a Fan zone , Rugby League is blessed in this respect in the warmer summer months during the season .
Street food outlets , beers including local micro breweries , get some decent bands on , ice cream , slushies , sweets for the kids etc etc and make a bit of money off the rent you'd charge the providers .
Open it up 3 hours before KO and an hour afterwards perhaps .
We seem to be well covered in the new East Stand with the corporate punter and a birthday - special occasion match day experience supporter .

I haven't seen anything to say what isn't actually meeting standard on the screen.
Anyone know?
I can see there is a problem with the screen. But that isn't the same as not meeting the standard.

| Was there a proposal to sort the North Stand out? I think there was, but I can't remember.
So much unused space at the back of the stand that is an eyesore. Sorting it out will increase ground capacity ready for being back in super league. Also, it will improve the look of the ground.
I think this should be tackled as a priority.
Sorting the sound out in there would be good as well.
