| Quote PopTart="PopTart"So is it OK if the 5th side is promoted in football or is it a f.
It's been the same for a long time now.'"
The point being made is the top side gets promoted, the 5th side only gets promoted after the play off following the top side (well top 2 sides) getting promoted, surely you can see the point being made

Yes I can see it. No need for the eye roll.
The thing is, we can't really afford two promotions and two relegation. So we either keep the playoffs which is a great money spinner and adds some excitement where the league leader is sometimes done weeks before the end of the season, and let whoever wins get promoted or we just promote the top side.
It's a moot point now though. Winning the GF gives you extra points rather than promotion. Though they are good points worth getting.

| They did what they had to do based on the rules applicable, in fact being 5th made it all the more credible. They deserve their chance whatever the circumstances and whatever their results are in SL.
It is regrettable that for us this season the SL boat has sailed so I guess we must concentrate on the teams in the Championship and hopefully have a chance next season to once again return to SL. We could do this in theory from 8th for example so would you think that was unacceptable?

The best team should go up, they clearly weren't the best this season.

I think league leaders should go up, simple as, winning the league should get that reward. I'd still feel the same if it worked in our benefit from further down the table. It's just like how I'm still very promotion/relegation regardless of us going down this year.

Unfortunately that is now an out of date concept.
Best team is judged in a different way.

| Stupid system that is at fault, we should be thankful they put Toulouse to bed in the semi final anyway. No doubt Fev would’ve blown the final against them & that would have made things even tighter with this IMG malarkey.

| It appears that London have done away with both their scholarship and academy teams to save money. 70 odd kids they had on the books, this is terrible news IMO.
In an ideal world I would like to see the RFL fund the junior teams for non-heartland clubs, just not enough money to go around.

Without junior development, there is no future for the sport.
Getting kids into the sport (and keeping them there), is THE most important aspect of the game.
Without strong roots, the game will die.

| London Broncos are restructuring their academy due to the fact that running an Academy gets you no IMG grading points.
The money saved can go to fund a Large TV screen in the Stadium which would gain Grading Points. Utter madness if you ask me.
It is being said that London Broncos may lose their SL status at the end of next season, However when the SL is expanded back to fourteen teams, London will be looked on favourably for promotion.
