In fairness Egg - they appointed a pretty good coach in Willie Poching. So they cannot be accused of hiring the wrong coach before Applegarth...... its just they decided to sack him after he performed miracles and kept us up with a shoe string budget.

That change of coach had nothing at all to do with Applegarth telling Carter and Minnards that he would do the job for 50% of the wage Willie was getting....

Anyone could see that 5 or 6 games in when we got nillled four games in a row Applegarth wasn’t cut out for it. The club let him then lose 10 more on the bounce and still did nothing. They’ve had ample time to get rid and haven’t, which says something.

Agree ,Poching should never have gone ,Was starting to bring younger player's to the club, ( who this coach got rid of ) had a 42% win record best since the great Topo .Poaching was a legend at this club One more mistake was letting R Hampshire go ( a lot of fans favourite) and by far a better player at 6 or 7 that as played this season and all ways gave100% even when playing with a broken jaw. Plus not giving Miller 20, thousand pounds more Yet they club were willing to throw money down the drain on players like Proctor and other so called over Sea S L players who were no were near the standed of Big Dave ( A all time Legend of this club) who came out of retirement to play It is no suprise we are in the Championship .As said you could see in the Featherstone warm up game you could see then we would finish bottom When I came out of game last night I was not sad, deflated Just angry that if Catalan are a top team ,the standard of S L is shocking, and this season we got everything wrong

I wonder if we will get a statement from our unbelievably unsuccessful self appointed director of rugby. He was our very own King Canute who actually believed it was possible to hold back the waves of relegation lapping at his feet by hope alone.
