Because we are in desperate need of an organising SO and Miller has had 7 years to prove that is a job he can't do. We need to try other options and this is a good week to do so.

Don't remember Shaul dropping any high balls ??

I think that option is to buy a new stand off, not stick someone in who's hardly played there and shows no organisation ability when he has.

But we haven’t signed Shaul and he’s never played there. We have tried Max a few times so that I get.

Got told the other day that Max was signed as a S/O as a 15 year old but don’t know if that’s true.

Bizarre to try Shaul in halves I know. Max also is an out and out full back and in an emergency can cover 6 but Max isn’t a 6. That experiment in reserves and first team yielded little results.

I think Max has been very good last few games at full back and he seems to be putting Murphy into some real space too creating the extra man.

The answer to me is simple. We have two halfbacks in Miller/Lino and we pick a full back from Shaul/Jowitt. For me I’d go with Jowitt but if he needs a rest just bang Shaul in.

Think Max could be a great 6 but we simply don’t have the time or resources to really find out.

We need a recognised SO for certain but if he got injured then we may have to give Max a prolonged run out, then we’d know for sure.

It’s a bold claim to state a player isn’t an x,y or z unless it’s hugely obvious ie Lino at prop.

You don't sign Shaul as a reserve even if you have an unlimited budget. If he signs the message to Max is that he is not required. Continue with Max and spend money where it is required.

The message to Max is you have competition so be your best.
Anyone that gives in because they have competition shouldn't be playing professional sport. I'm sure Max knows that.
