No Jack Smith is atrociously bad

I have noticed one thing about Salford is their penchant for trying the intercept which Wigan used to their advantage.

Take your point, but this ref has had his fair share on television this season and he's made quite a few noticeable howlers despite the technology available and protestations from multiple players in the teams he's upset, I think it was after one season that he retired from refereeing in SL and ran the lines for a couple of seasons because of the abuse he and his family were receiving which isn't good we know, making this his come back season.

Sorry to hear that as nobody would condone that sort of behaviour. Good for him though making a comeback. I haven’t seen many so can’t comment much. He seems hits overzealous with the penalties and six agains but if we play well it shouldn’t matter and the result will work itself out.

For anyone intrested and didnt know after the game on sunday the academy origin game will be taking place sadly dont think a wakey player will be involved due to injury but may be a good game,add i been at match i would of stayed and watched

The only way this ref is going to influence the game is if we give him the ammunition to do so,imo Brody Croft will have far more influence on this game than the ref , and will need close attention to negate it .A clique I know but error free play and a low penalty count will see us home in this one .

I’ve actually been relatively impressed by most of the reffing I’ve seen this year.

The only shocker for me was the Leeds home game where the first half penalty count did seem excessive even when I watched it on TV.

That’s not to say it’s great. It’s still far to inconsistent. Not just between refs but also a single ref will openly ref two consecutive games completely differently. The latter drives me mad. How the hell do you prepare for that!

but about the ref, lets hope that come Sunday night the conversation on here is about how well we've played and the fear of relegations been put to bed and that whistling Jack Smith doesn't get any negative comments to monopolise the thread.
