Quote: PopTart "It's funny that the same people who moan about panic buying are also the people who moan we didn't go buy a prop only good enough for the bottom team who no one knows anything about.

The team we have is perfectly capable of beating Toulouse. And to be honest Leeds.
Time will tell if we do. Panic doesn't really help right now so glad Willie and the team have 2 weeks to prepare and will give it their best.

I also predict, if we do win, it will be much quieter on here.'"

The supporters cannot influence who the club spend their budget on but we can get the vibes with regards the reasoning. I cannot believe that you do not think the signing of the lad from London and Whitbread from Leigh were not due to panic and cost. I admire your optimism with regards our chances and yes we must win but based on past performances this could easily be another loss.
We faced Huddersfield at the best time to register a victory but failed to do so and in fact did not score in the second half and in the last ten minutes just drove the ball in without a clue what to do. I agree the forum will be quiet if we win but if it is the other way than criticism will be much to the fore but your defence will remain full throated.

For the hundredth time it's the clubs responsibility to ensure SL survival and to provide funds to obtain a level of quality players to make the above achievable.
The club have made no progress over the last six years and show no signs of season on season of making any kind of effort to better the clubs situation.
A new stadium may see an increase in support over a couple of home games but new support will shy away from what's on offer at the moment.
Facilities to entice other than rugby supporters to the stadium will have to be located and enticed, a mother and baby club ain't going to cut it.
Sorry but the club needs a change of attitude and direction.
Let's just see what happens if we loose our next game.

Yeah right.

Poor and transparent attempt to hide the fact that you have no answer.

Unbelievable.

It’s always been my responsibility to keep a roof over my families head but without sufficient income I’d struggle.

In the past that has occasionally happened and the only thing I could do in the short term was either borrow more than I could afford or cut my cloth accordingly.

What I couldn’t do was conjure up free money. What I absolutely was not willing to do was scupper long term goals for the sake of a short term fix.

Like it or not Trinity is in exactly that situation.

The job of the BOD is to run the club with due diligence and not to take short term panic measures. We run with what we have unless the right player becomes available.

So are you going to give the club some free money?

No, I thought not.

I agree. The two signings you mention were influenced by cost.
And I think Whitbread is doing OK
Can't see a problem. We need players with numbers on their back higher than 13. It's just how a team is built.

So does the club have long term goals and if so what are they.
We have all had the responsibility of keeping a roof over our heads and on occasions have found it difficulty, surely that's part of family life.
How are trinity in the exact situations,. Trinity have chosen the path its on and have not made a single effort to promote the club increase attendances or provide present supporters with anything other than doom and gloom.
Anyway you keep singing the owners praises and making excuses for their total blinkered style of management.

Could do what trinity did in the early 90s tear all the contracts up to the players who not required

I expect. More from you Vasty than to jump on a remark from another poster a poster I may add that obviously didn't read the posts from the beginning.
I notice you didn't respond to the questions I asked you.
I think it's time you took your own advice and stayed away for a while, like I have said before your the common denominator in causing argument.

icon_lol.gif

Yeah yeah yeah, someone disagrees with you and they are a bully, is this the schoolyard icon_rolleyes.gif

I never defended Glover, not once, I said right from the start and I quote 'it's all window dressing with Glover'.

What's interesting is you use the word defend as though everything is a conflict and there are no grey areas and those who run the club are the enemies of true fans (like you I assume).

Ted had his faults but I remember him being praised by clowns like you when it suited and then the moment it went wrong, you were off.

Rogerson or Ted's daughter was actually quite competent but at the end of the day, she was never the real boss. All the same, they kept the club afloat for nearly twenty years when nobody and I mean nobody else was interested FACT.

would you like to go back further, what about Farrar and all those before, where do you want to stop?

I "love" the infighting between the fans, you would think that we were supporting different clubs !

It's beyond question that the current BoD have Trinity's best interest at heart, having spent time and (plenty of) money to both steady the ship and to keep it afloat.
Have we made some poor signings, yes - although many were seen as ok at the time.
Could we do with a prop (or two), clearly yes.

However, just because Toulouse have brought in a prop, doesn't mean we are sitting on our hands or, that we wont make a move as and when circumstances allow.

It's a huge game next week but, it's not yet do or die for either Toulouse or ourselves.

Get behind the club and the team.

Come on Trin !
