I'd have been happy with that last season.
I think we tended to be 5 drives and just hand the ball over.

Half the time we don't even have an attacking line, just a rabble

Standing flat as been my gripe for years.
Difficult to score when near the line because it just becomes a game of shove.
Generally we are out muscled in this area.
Lying a little deeper and running onto a ball without a man about to clatter you simply changes the dynamic in favour of the attacking team.
We don't learn what isn't working or have the individuals to step inside a player to create a gap. Hope CC watches the coaching manual as used by the more successful teams.

This game is definitely winnable.
The only victory for Leeds cam at our expense, in a game that Trinity, despite being busted, could and should have won.
We will be much stronger in the pack this time around and with a couple of bodies back, we CAN do the business.
Confidence wont be great for either side and it's up to our senior players to stand up.
Assuming he's fit, I'd have senior back, hopefully with Johnstone on the other wing

Yes, hopefully we have a couple of bodies returning after couple of weeks off, the only problem is Leeds players have also had time to refresh. I’m not sure if they still have a couple of players still suspended for this game.

Yes I believe they do have a few returning including Luke Gale.

Been saying the same thing myself for years also, ric. Big Dave should be running at speed for at least 10m before receiving the ball. His momentum should then take him at least another 15m.. A flat line and receiving the ball standing still achieves nothing

Sadly, even as it's the basics, we've not been very good at it, starting with the forwards not running onto the ball, and the wingers driving it in too often. All for the backs to take it in, but there has been instances when the whole set, as been taken up by the backs

I'm not usually one for advocating ultimatums and in the past have been the eternal optimist - 'we'll turn the corner' BUT even I'm at the point where the time has come for a win!
I don't know what's wrong - Bad coaching? Players not playing to gameplan? Players not fit? some players don't care? Injuries?
You can pick and mix but it's probably a bit of everything, although to be fair the players have seemingly stepped up in the last couple of games.You can analyse it as you wish as to what's causing the terrible run, but what we all surely agree on, is that it has to end, and pronto!
If there is no win in the next couple of games, then in my book, it's time for a change, because spectators will not return to watch a team getting beaten in every game, and that's fact.

I would be satisfied with the basics right now. 5 proper drives and a kick complimented by some of the defence shown this year would see us see us take the 2 points on a few occasions.

The strategy of firing the backs/wingers in for the first few tackles just doesn’t work as it used to and I think even more so for us, as at the moment we’re often starting off on the back foot 10m from our own line.

I remember seeing the likes of Cockayne and Fox often break through the line and put us in a really good position or even score.
