Quote Fishermanscap="Fishermanscap"Kaye hasn't had a chance really. Not as good as BJB but a good finisher and prolific, a more basic winger but one who can do the job.
Kershaw is an oddity, he's a bash em up winger, if he can keep his enthusiasm and work ethic he'll be a handful. On'y issue is pace, he's no slouch but he's not as speedy as BJB.'"
Mostly I agree. However, he’s prone to the odd stinker of a game (2 I can recall with one against Leeds pre season where he played himself out of first team selection).
He’s not got a great pair of hands and he’s dropped a fair few balls too.
I honestly don’t think he’s good enough. The only strong part of his game is the hard yards he can make after contact. He’s a young lad an he can probably improve but imo he’s a far cry from regular SL ready.
I’ll be clear though that I’m not rubbishing him and I will support a young wakey lad any day pulling on the shirt. I’ve just not been impressed.
Kaye knows how to find the try line and that’s great but when a Lyne and Kaye played together I seem to remember they had some positioning shockers in defence with opposition backs ghosting through the gaps on the right. This massively concerned me. This improved when bishop returned to partner Lynn and when Pitts was no longer in the right SR spot.
Batch, Lynn, BJB was much more defensively sound and potent than Pitts, Lynn , Kaye.
Controversial but Batchelor for me played himself to a starting shirt 2021 in Pitts absence. The right side defence and attack improved greatly with Batch there.
