I think the point is that we've told people to take pay cuts (some still on furlough I think??) But then we hire new people.

It says he’s not starting until 1st November so I imagine by then someone will have left to be able to pay Willie? If not he would be starting immediately wouldn’t he?

Gilmour is out of contract and was linked with Leeds before the start of the season. Guess he might be off.

Willie remains a hero here so it certainly looks like a good signing to help get fans onside. He has certainly got plenty of experience in the role these days. My only concern though is it is another mate of Chester rather than a completely fresh face with brand new ideas, different to anything he has had before. Hopefully it will work out well but we can all shut up about Chester getting the boot, it definitely ain’t happening now.

I hope it’s just the start of a refresh. A new conditioning team would be my next choice, Clawson has been there since the Agar years and it’s time for a change in that department as well.

I think you might be right about Gilmour, I'm sure I've read it somewhere that he's done at the end of the season and possibly moving to Leeds.

Wille spoke at one of Trinity's lunch clubs a while ago. Spoke well about his time at Wakefield and his time in rl since he left. He was a fans favourite then, hope he continues the same now. Welcome home Willie

Excellent news. I said on another post I wished there was a way to bring him to Wakefield. I think his influence will be very noticeable in our future performances
