Afraid so - for that game, you throw everything you can at the win; good as they were, the young lads can't have the fate of the club on their shoulders - it wouldn't be fair.

| I would play Johnston because he does have genuine pace but Crowther I think is currently a little small for the rigours of playing in the pack. I agree you need the most experienced players you can for a final because failure does not bare thinking about.
I know you can be blinded by yesterday but the coach must consider that the team he puts out must be the one that can handle the pressure of a final.

| Wouldn't have Ali back. Much as I like the guy he's a bit of a liability these days.

| If Lee Smith is fit and available I'd have him at Full Back which is unfortunate for Jowitt, however I'd play him on the wing with Johnstone on the other side.

| Lyne does not get in the side for me he simply is not a good enough player, Arundel is a better option. If Girmond ( honestly we are trying our best and we have never been fitter and its not our fault, the fans are wrong and know nothing at all about Rugby ) is not back for the Sheffield game then I think that rules him out. Not sure Locke would be a good idea as he us unlikely to finish a game injury free. I think Yates and Mullaly get in ahead of Molloy and Walker. Ali is the difficult one, he looked his age against Widnes, miles of the pace and missing tackles, that said he just might win you a game. Hard as it seems I also sadly think Tim Smith has to play, if he is in the nick or deported then OK but other than that I think we need him in order to beat Bradford. That said if the club decide he does not play on principle then I will support that decision.

| If fit Molloy should play for me. We've missed him since injured.
I'd play Tim Smith

Cant disagree about Molloy but, Smith doesn't deserve his spot.

| Without knowing the full details of what's gone on recently, be it the fools in the car, Scott Anderson or the injuries to Smith & Ali its hard to judge.
If all things were equal, for me, Tim Smith would have to play, Kevin Locke would have to play, Lee Smith would play in the centre, Anderson would have to be in the 17, Reece Lynne would not be in the 19 and Ali would be coming off the bench.
Plus points from Saturday:
Mullally was stand out. We looked a far better side with him on the field
Young kids went well and showed that we have no reason to not play them regular next year
Yates went ok and may have pushed himself in front of Walker
Sio & Miller went well again
Danny Washbrook was solid again. If he doesn't win our POY this year there is something wrong. For me he has been head & shoulders above anyone else on a consistent basis all year. A regular 7/8 out of 10 when some team mates have been getting 3's!
Negatives:
Tupou has never been a centre. He gets shown up defensively and doesn't have a pass in him. He would give us so much more bringing the ball back from kick returns.
Pita Godinet does not look fit. If we could find a way to give him the week off next week, it would be great, although i'm not sure if that is going to be possible?

Spot on with everything.
Very much agree about Tupou had the same conversation about him on Saturday.

| We said the same about Toupou - he appears to be a very one dimensional player; devastating with ball in hand, but a defensive liability and no eye for a pass.
Godinet has been dreadful the last two games and is clearly unfit - he needs to sit out Sheffield I would've thought.
Lyne, Smith and Locke I'd live without, for different reasons; Lyne is rubbish, Smith has shown a total disregard for his club, teammates, coach and fans - and Locke has so many running repairs during a game that it's clear he's playing injured. If he is to feature again, save him for Bradford.

It's a shame because he doesn't deserve it but I agree about Smith. Sadly he is still the only player we have capable of dictating a game. Godinet can't and neither can Miller who was lacking direction on Saturday.
I don't even pretend to know how Tim Smith mind works if it works at all but if he has an ounce of decency he owes Brian Smith and Michael Carter a very big game. And we will need it because I can't see Bradford folding as easily as last time.
I wouldn't bother with Kirmond, for me he's a spent force.
Perhaps Lee Smith to centre with Toupou because of me Jowitt and and Johnson have the pace and desire to trouble Bradford.

Neither of those will happen.......if he goes to court on the 30th and pleads guilty then the case will be dealt with there and then, and worse case scenario is that he is looking at a driving ban (probably 18 months minimum for failing to provide a specimen), along with a hefty fine. If he pleads not guilty then the case will be adjourned for a trial in a few months time, by which time he could have gone back to Aus ?
Either way he will not be banged up and is likely to be available for selection.

I'd like to think he would have the decency to round off his time with a great game as an apology for his recent lapse. Only Brian Smith will be in a position to determine if that is the guys mindset.

Yes i had heard a hearing was being held today and expected an outcome to be released today. i think we need the best we have to beat a Bradford side who will be pumped for this one but if the best dont have their heads and hearts in it then its a massive risk
