Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Considering the team out there and resting a lot of last weeks players I think we showed up well. Numerous chances to win that game with a bit more composure.
We had a few young players in there who did themselves proud in big minutes.

Didn't think he was playing today!
Seriously, though, couldn't go today but sounds as though the lads did us proud. Well done everyone. Team selection could become a bit of a nice headache.

| I got criticised by some of your fans (Maybe fairly, but it was a bad couple of days being a Hull fan I'm sure you all know what I mean) for not given Wakey credit after Wednesday, but a big well done to your team and fans, such a big turnaorund in your team, 5 weeks ago we would have won both games by 30 plus points, but you just never gave in.
Though Miller had another good game and Johnston has potential to be a star, need to keep playing him, despite him being a bit raw and he will make the odd mistake, but he some talent.
I hope we don't play you again this year (that's a compliment) and good luck in the middle 8's I really like your Chairman (he was having a really friendly chat with Webster before the game, which was good to see) I reckon once gets the team he wants you have a really good chance of getting back into SL.

Not sure he knows his strongest team, once he does by the middle 8s you will have a good go.

| Thought you played really well and thought at one point you were going to win. You will do well with Smith he was great at Hull and I'm sure he will do same for you. Wish we had him Radford is useless. Good luck for rest of season

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

I agree they all looked fine on the highlights to me.
I think we had a fantastic first half and a poor second half. Our completion rate in the 2nd must have been woeful, we kept wasting possession. Considering this wasn't our first choice team with some key players out, including what we believe to now be our first choice half back pairing and full back I am confident.
If Smith had selected differently then we could well have won this game.
I thought Hull FC were clearly the better team yesterday yet we were strong enough in defence to stay in it. We could still have nicked it too.
Extra plaudits too for all the tackles holding the ball up over our line
I'm feeling confident going into the Middle 8s. Brian just needs to decide on his starting thirteen.
P.S. Agreed Ellis was immense yesterday.

Great stats Tansey
Obviously didn't include him kicking the ball 100 metres to score to be fair, am I right in thinking he missed touch with the penalty (Really key moment was that)

Yes, he did miss that kick to touch. Agreed 7 missed tackles is far from great. I guess we need to give him a few weeks to settle and see if it improves. Remember Tansey played at Hull not too long ago. I'm sure Radford knows his weaknesses and may well have played upon them.

| He was playing in an unfamiliar position though so Tansey won't have that problem for long.
He played ok considering the position and lack of game time he's had.
I'd be ok with him in centre or on wing.
Walker grew on me through the game too. I thought he looked a bit over weight at first but he stayed on the field a long time as we didn't have enough props and the stats show he made good yardage on his runs.
It's not like we've found the next Peacock but I think he'll be ok for us.
Assuming we are not keeping Kirke I'd be happy with keeping Kavanagh too.
