Surely we're planning on being in SL and therefore we should be offering contracts based on that assumption, with relegation clauses to say that the wages drop to X and the player is also free to persue a deal with another SL club.

There will be relegation clauses in contracts and I imagine a lot of players will be allowed to leave if we are not playing super league. It shouldn't be a massive issue. It may have some impact but not as much as some posters suggest.

But if you were a player, would you want the stress of having to find another club, or would you rather sign longer term with a club that was unlikely to be relegated?

I think it is an issue - another example of how the new structure is good for the teams who are safe, but crap for clubs like us.

Has Sykes been told out of contract at end of season and a Superleague one pays more. At Bulls he always seemed to up his game when his job was on the line.

I think Sykes may offer more across a number of positions for another 1 year deal. Wildie hasn't had a run at all to justify another contract yet.Agree with the others.

Fairbank and Riley may be worth also trying to offer 1 year deals if unwanted at their parent clubs

Riley would get a 2 year deal for me if we could get him.

I don't think we will be in a position to resign any players until we know what division we are in next season. The same goes for any possible new signings.
