Who do you think would want to come ant coach here at the moment, with the cash constraints that would be placed upon them and the bare bones of a squad that we have ?

| Yep its not the time for knocking that's for sure. Next season will be a long hard slog and we need to stick together more than ever before.
I think Agar seems a honest sort of fellow and I wish him all the best. People will never always agree with how a coach operates and team selection, but in general I think hes done ok with the money available. The players all seem to like and respect agar and that's a big bonus, they I think will always put the effort in.

Good question and good point. Sadly we are a club in decline and there is no escaping that fact. I am a lifelong supporter and have up until now have always remained positive about "next season". Even under Kear next season was just the same as the previous season. We as supporters have tried time and again to assist the club in its whole matter of issues over the recent years and our voice has never been heard. I'm certainly not saying its time to give up but what i am saying is we are in decline and need to accept that.

I'm not actually sure who the supporters choice was. Poching perhaps? All I remember the alternative names that were bandied about in the press were Goulding and Schofield, which I still think were leaked to make Agar's appointment more palatable.

John Kear and Paul Broadbent would have had these players in the top six without a doubt, they did it before and would indeed do it again if given the opportunity. Agars record is truly awful. Still that said I do not want to pour cold water over the optimistic nature of this original threa, its just that for all the good that may be happening I personally think that this move to give Agar 3 year is truly truly disasterous.'"
Again, nothing more than an opinion. I would say no they wouldn't. We might have won a few games that were tight but we'd also have got spanked a few times if my memory serves me correctly.
I personally think Agar has done OK with the resources he has had, not GREAT, but not AWFUL either. I am however happy to bow down to people with a much better knowledge of the game than me and most of them say he is a very good young coach.

From what I remember we were bigging up Peter Gentle (who refused to even speak to us) who has IMO not broken any pots at Hull given they have masses more resources than us.
The other name that I remember some fans wanting was Ian Millward, another who proved less than succesful in the appointment he got.

Enlighten me as to how he has failed since being at Wakefield

Maybe not according to you & those who listen to and follow some HullFC fans, but OUR players like and respect him. I know whose judgement I would prefer to trust.

| I'm a little surprised at the length of contract Agar has got if 3 years is true. We made similar contract mistakes with some players like Mellars etc.
He's done ok but think that with the squad we had we should have been around 8th and have under achieved. The players themselves acknowledge this. Next year will be even more difficult for the team and Agar so 3 years seems disproportionate.

MC implied that, if the worst happens and we're relegated next year, RA would have offers to coach in SL and wouldn't be coaching us.
