I know that, but I was backing up wrencat, if I had left it too late then I wouldn't bother for the sake of £10, half a game free doesn't really tempt me. I live in Rotherham so doubt i'll really use any of the other 'benefits', I could see the point in someone more local to the discount places buying it later though just not myself.

Exactly - in rare cases like the one you describe, it's probably better for the club if you pay walk-up prices.
I'm not sure I understand where the confusion comes from; there is a clear incentive to buy early - that's proven to be a powerful enough incentive that thus far, 4.5k people have chosen to take it up, with probably another thousand or so likely to follow suit before the second tier early bird price expires.
The rest are likely to be walk-ups paying full price - so the offer appears to have achieved its objective of putting over half a million quid in the club coffers early, in a way that allows financial forecasts to be done in a predictable way with known values.
Simple.

| People get season tickets for different reasons most to save money some will buy season tickets to pay upfront and help the club. I buy a season ticket every year and will continue to do so whatever the cost even if it didn't save me money I'd still get one because I like been a season ticket holder/ member of our great club, plus one day I'm hoping to be able to use the special vouchers in the back of the book to get priority tickets for our challenge cup final or grand final

Yeah, I realise that there is a BIG incentive to buy early.
The point I was making, is that, come January, you would have to be bonkers to but a season ticket, which will totally stop ST purchases.
Equally, does this point towards an increase next season to £250 ?

Glover aint stupid theres no way he will get rid of the early renewal incentive and charge everyone GBP 250. I suspect next years will be a further increase on the early renewal offer to say GBP 150-175 provided 4000 renew prior to the deadline as was the case this time.

The club have done a fasntastic job wit S/T sales. However, £250 after the end of Jan is too high (regardless of the plan for next season)

Most people who will get a season ticket will have taken advantage of the early bird prices. The £250 is just a gentle nudge to get them early. I'm pretty certain the club don't expect to sell any at that price, but if they do it will be a bonus.

I don't have an issue with it personally. With the instalment options available as part of the early renewal offer those people who wanted a season ticket could have got one at GBP 125 and split the cost, if needs be.

| Pre Glover our fan base was heavily dominated by fans who paid on the day. Our ST numbers were pretty low and there wasn't a pattern as to when the money came in.
Now we've 4,500 ST holders who have purchased from August - October. It could easily end up that we'll have 6k prior to the start of the season. The reason for this is that the club is trying to change its fan base from paying on the day to ST with the heavily reduced ST's but also with self imposed deadlines and early bird prices.
It's unlikely the club will sell any ST's at £250 BUT im sure that will please them because come the end of the 2013 season more fans will take end up te early bird offers rather than leaving it to late.

| Do you think the club should extend the season ticket offer to fans who pay into the 1873 draw or not?I know we've all had plenty of time to get one but I personally would make some allowance for these fans not making the deadline as they've given the club that extra little help.Or in future give club 1873 members guaranteed early bird prices linking the two and trying to get more to pay into club 1873.

how much time do they need.
to be truthful its been laid out over 3 payments.
it has a tier system that allows for them that want to purchase it in one payment.
the idea is to bring in the income at a time when no venue is coming in through games extend this and most will just hang back.

| As M62 posted people buy seasons tickets for different reasons. For me personally I live in Warwick and got a ST for the fist time last season. Got to 7 games and also got a mate in for free so was excellent value. Renewed this year and at £125 will still make sense for me. Would still do it up to £150 but beyond that would probably pay at the gate. However I'd still get to 6 to 8 games so from the clubs point of view they'd get same amount of cash all be it later and spread over the season.
