| Maybe not but it's nice to see the tables turned after the horrors we've gone through!

Quote bren2k="bren2k"This is part of a PR strategy - they'll do an investigation, find him guilty of misconduct, then sell him to Wigan.'"
Got to agree with you here to some extent. I think the "PR strategy" isn't conducted by Cas Tigers though but through Chase himself and his agent who was in the country recently. Get suspended (again) plus a bad diciplinary record and hopefully (for Chase) he will be able to leave. I would'nt be surprised if Hull FC is his destination where he will be re-united with his old drinking buddy Westerman.

Time for Cas Tigers to cash-in I think and with his perportedly high earnings we could get 3 decent SL players. I read somewhere he is in the top 3 earners in SL which for a club of our stature is a bit extreme.

It won't/can't be conducted by Cas because the guy is on a 5 year contract - same as Clarke - and what would that say to the rest of the world? Neither player was ever likely to stay at Cas for that length of time, if we're being honest, but a sale would suit both parties financially. Running SL clubs costs money. Developing new stadia costs money. Transfers make money. Win - win.

one of the reasons for a successful club is producing talent that is wanted by other clubs trouble is you have to replace them or you just go the other way as did Wakey when Broughy went to Shudds

The point is that neither Wakey then, nor Cas now, have the money to pursue success on the pitch and stadia dreams at the same time. Buying Rangi out of a 5 year deal will cost serious money. If you get a nibble at the price, but no deal, where do you go from there? You've taken a hard line, but you know you need to sell the player, so you have to find a way to reduce the price...

But they have to find a way to appease the fans - if they flog him to the highest bidder without putting up the semblance of a fight, their fans turn against them.

If this act was purely to get out of his contract then he has a very serious problem as opposed to just a serious problem.
