| Quote Legionited="Legionited"I'm just glad that other people have the same opinion as me in all of this.
This isn't a charity fundraiser, there are people at the Bulls who have seemingly allowed this to happen. They are a business and businesses cannot expect the public to pay their debts off.
Hope the Bulls can survive but there needs to be change and a long term strategy in place IMO.'"
Rank hypocrisy is what it is - people are suckers for names - Gary Speed hangs himself and it's front page news a bin man from Grimsby does the same no one gives a toss.
The poster boys of SL struggle and it's a massive issue and every ones up for it, perenial strugglers like us or a few years back Halifax and it served us right, Pathetic.

| If I was a Director/Shareholder of Bradford I would be delighted that people are prepared to give me money with no strings attached. The Club has been mis-managed and if the money is raised then the status quo remains - the Board will nave been rewarded for their mis-management.
I know how the Bradford fans are feeling, we felt it ourselves, and often the heart rules the head but think about it Bradford fans. There is nothing wrong with you putting your £100's in if that money will indeed make the Club solvent and sustainable but I would want some shares in the Club for the investment so that we the fans could have a stake in the Club and its future running.
I could understand it if the Bulls were making £1m worth of new shares available and the supporters bought/took up this share offer and had some ownership in the Club but its a £1m donation to a Board/Shareholders who have run the Club to the verge of bankruptcy.
I guess they will do whatever they see fit and accept the consequences, whatever they may be.

| i know that this won't be read by anyone who still has to make up their mind about donating, but...
what is to say that the business plan (if saved) doesn't involve selling all of the players? they have said that they are not considering it at the moment, but in the future.....
players will be sold if necessary. fact.
don't part with your money, this is about to get worse.....(then hopefully better)

Yeah but rightly so, Speed was an inspiration to a generation of Leeds fans and will be missed by most footy fans all over the country. Your bin man from Grimsby, whilst probably a stand up chap is never going to make the front page.
No point feeling bitter about it, we just aren't as treasured to the game of RL as Bradford are, rightly or wrongly.

=#0040FFAbsolutely, and I think one of the biggest problems is you have some of the biggest names in the British game pushing this campaign on Twitter and Facebook as well as selling things on eBay and people are rallying behind them in the name of the "rugby league family". It's understandable that the likes of Jarrod Sammut and other Bulls players are wanting people to help because it's a matter of their job to them but perhaps people need to think about what good their money is going to do for the club by handing it over to their current owners.
The people in charge at the Bulls must be laughing at how much they've managed to raise already (in pledges of course). They could come out of this without having to face up to the situation they have found themselves in and it will mostly have been paid for by the general public.
As said before, Bradford Bulls are not a charity to the best of my knowledge and with that said I hope Sky Sports don't allow this weekends MOTM winners to nominate their £100 to be given to a business.

| Makes me want to vomit, I'm guessing oconner has pledged 10k real using they don't have a chance of making therefore his money is safe but no doubt if he does have to stump up it will be some kind of tax dodge so will not end up costing that much anyway.

The general public will end up footing the bill whatever happens. At least this way, a decent percentage of the money will be raised by the Bradford rugby league-supporting general public, rather than the general tax payer, or local businesses that are owed money.
Let's be honest, if they can raise the cash, it's a better solution for the general public than if they can't. I completely agree with you, however, when it comes to all the bleeding heart stuff simply because this is Bradford, especially when other clubs in similar situations in the past have simply met with scorn and contempt. Totally nauseating.

=#0040FFWho is actually owed money by the Bulls? Isn't the problem that they owe the RFL money and are unable to pay that as well as the fact that the bank has withdrawn their overdraft facility meaning they can't afford to pay wages and suchlike? The RFL now own Odsal so surely they could recoup money from selling that on if the worst was to happen?

| IIRC the RFL DON'T own Odsal...as was posted on here at the time, the RFL have taken over the lease for Odsal, so therefore would not be able to sell the ground if it all goes belly-up !!
