Initially I misread this as "Thirty three" and thought it was a thread about Stanley Gene's age...

Anyroad, I often wonder if returning to Saturday afternoon fixtures is the way forward. Living in Manchester and having to travel on public transport for home games I find late night fridays and Sunday afternoons really awkward to get to. Saturday afternoon means its not to awkward to get around and you have time to have a drink or whatever after the match.

just need a winning team first but need to ask supporters before we try it but its the sky games that get me if we do go down some are on thursday night

3.30 Sunday is good for me. We tried Saturday 2.30 some years ago when the floodlights got nicked and it wasn't that popular, although I cant remember if it clashed with footie.

I might be wrong here and stand to be corrected but I believe there was something in the District that prevented kick offs at 3pm on Sundays, you will note that cas and Fev dont kick off before 3.30 on a Sunday, I think it was religious based but not 100% something I recall from the nether region of the past

I always thought it was to do with the pubs closing at 3 on a Sunday so giving time to finish beers and get to the game (people in Hull obvioulsy drank faster hence their 3:15 kickoffs)

Ahh, I always thought it was to do with the shift changes at the pits when they were still going?

Isn't it because the pubs used to shut at 3 on a Sunday?
