| Quote t-r-i-n-i-t-y="t-r-i-n-i-t-y"Just another in the line of 'saviours' built up by those looking for a new hero. Wouldn't have had much faith in anyone who would move another sports club miles away from it's traditional home as some suggested he may (not that we'll ever know.)'"
That was never the plan, the idea is to keep the whole Guiseley set up where it is in terms of juniors, Academy, & Reserves but the senior team can not move up the leagues if they remain in there current home.
So they either accept that they've reached the ceiling or their league ambitions or they move home. Developing The stadium might offer some improvement but they are limited to what they can do and the ambitions of the Guiseley board exceeds the potential of their current ground, so they don't want to spend money to develop it.
The other factor is Leeds Utd, the thinking at Guiseley is that even if they went all the way to the Championship their crowd potential will always be hamstrung by Utds presence and strength of support. Wakefield offers the countries largest City without Football League representation and luckily for them it's not that far away when you consider it in terms of creating a new powerful Club capable of doing what Wigan have done (Wigan went from the league below where Guiseley are to the PL in just a few short years).

Agree with you Al to a certain extent, if he's going to get involved he should do it as soon as our franchise is confirmed in July or that should be the end of it!
However, the possibility of a bloke who would be so powerful in Rugby League joining Trinity deserves discussion.

| I am not 100% certain but I don't think Parkin can be involved with 2 football clubs so in order for him the buy Bradford City he would have to sell his stake in Guisley.

The YP article confirms this. It does state that he would still intend to be a benefactor to Guiseley.

| Look at it this way. He wanted Leeds Utd, he got Guiseley. Then he wanted Wakefield, now he wants Bradford. Maybe he just aims a bit too high first time around

| Surely, if he only wanted involvement to get on board with Newmarket, the £30k + debt that AG paid would have been well worth a punt for a man with his clout?
May not have been good for us mind. Its one thing having the cash, its another spending it.

That's how I saw it, although I did hear sufficiently convincing information to suggest that his involvement was more about when than if, so it might not be the end of the story.

| Heard it on radio leeds, wants to take over BC and combine with the Bulls. Personally I am happy with AG,he seems like he really does care about Wakey and Steve Parkin just seems to want a sports club as a conversation piece. However it is all good for Yorkshire sport.
