Quote allmatt="allmatt"That is not quite true. The "proposed" LDF plan for industrial/employment development is this:
www.wakefield.gov.uk/Planning/Sp ... Employment
The area for employment is way less than the overall development planned by YorkCourt.
The "proposed" area of Green belt is this:
www.wakefield.gov.uk/Planning/Sp ... height=512
These are only proposals at present. At the moment all the area[u is green belt[/u
The latest amendments to the scheme mean nothing in terms of the overall plan, a few Office units have been deleted from the plans.'"
The latest amendments mean that the developer has listened to the requests made of it and has taken the advice on board and applied it.

So the LDF plans are worthless and will not be taken into account then?

| I can see where jose is coming from yet again it's all gone deadly quite. What concerns me is are we in the same situation like Widnes were in, was it the club that went into liquidation or the owner cos the new owner was not allowed into super league for twelve months or something like that anyway. Is Teds situation going to stop us playing top flight rugby (if we had the players)??. Are Cas playing a risky game by announcing new sponsors giving naming rights to the new stadium. Or have all the teams got the nod already and planning for the next 4 years but we can only plan for next year.
A few question's that needs some answers.

| I am new to posting on the forum, although i have posted once or twice on the Giants site in the last week. I have no out and out team who i support full time, and in truth i get about quite a few, but it would be true to say i have seen more of the giants than others, However i do get to some of Wakefield's games, and i can only wish them the best in their fight to get the new stadium.
One thing i read on another forum that bothered me was that, according to the post Wakefield council have pledged £ 2 million towards Castleford's stadium , does anyone know if this is true, and if so is there a similar amount of backing for the Wakefield project.
From an outsiders view as it were, it would seem very unfair to support one and not the other, but also from that same view it seems almost inconceivable that in the present monetary climate, and with a new Government making huge cutbacks everywhere, that two Stadiums will get built so close together.
Having read most of the posts on this I realize that the funding is supposed to be in place and I hope this is truly the case, My son in law works for one of the biggest building companies in the country, his job is to win contracts in Yorkshire, which entails helping clients to raise the necessary finance, He tells me it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination, so i truly hope the money side is sorted.
The other thing i was interested in was , If the worst happens god forbid and Wakefield dont get a licence, where is the most likely place they would play, I ask this as i would still want to go watch them from time to time.
There seem s to be quite a few posters on here who are not happy with the signings being made , but surely until the club know whether they have a stadium or not they cant really commit to expensive contracts with top players, It appears as though the future of the club is riding on it, I wish you the best of luck, at the moment it appears you need all you can get.
Sorry if i have not picked the best of subjects for my first post.

| The problem you have, Is the club is not an attractive propostition at the minute, For players or Sponsors
Cas are doing great guns, The money invested for naming rights in the Metrel Stand, Will cover 4% of the total build cost, Which might not sound much, But the councils money would equate to 16%, And our ground another almost 60%, So were going along quite nicely.
You need to pursuade some people with money, That the stadium is a goer... And then they will invest, Which will then help fund the thing. Lets hope you can also sort things out, And we can both stick 2 fingers up at the bent RFL

Serious question here. How does a one piece of land (albeit a sligtly larger one) cover 60% of the build cost? I am sure that there are other factors in the make up of the Cas budget, but I just can't see how that bit works - the price of land is very low at the moment, there is the CSR coming and house prices have just gone down again, markedly. There is also the factor that the Hicksons site will have residential land for sale - although not for a while - and there is a chunk of land at Fryston for housing as well.
I can't even tell you the exact percentages of the NM build - partly because it is fluctuating all the time, so I'm just trying to understand the raionale behind the 60% figure?
What you say about the Wildcats is absolutely spot on!

What a total load of balls.
This proposal was nothing more than a bit of trickery by box and we were not prepared to walk into the trap.

| Quote altofts wildcat="altofts wildcat"Box is up for re-election in May so we have the chance to get him off the council then. Also Wakefield council is run by Labour on a majority of 1 i think so come the next election we may have a change of local government which surely can only be bennificial to us if we can get rid of Box.'"
So how does this plan work? Is he popular in his ward? Does anyone here actually vote in his ward?
