Perhaps it starts with the coahing wanting to be here, maybe that would rub off on the players. We will still have competitive side next year, but we made a huge mistake offering broadbent a new contract. The players are getting the boot yet the coaching staff get retained when opportunity was there to replace one of them. We are in for a hard season, thats for sure only see us finishing in front of Harliquins. I hope i'm wrong. Also i hear learno may be on his way as well, which leaves hugely short on props.

Spoke to someone at the club about three weeks ago who advised that Cooke has been a 100% professional, always on time, always helping the younger players, very willing to help out with the community stuff. Could not speak highly enough of him, wished we had more like him. Good luck Cookey and thanks for all your efforts. Not once when watching him play for us did I think he was not giving his best.

What a waste of talent. He could have been one of the top Hull players ever if he stayed with us, I reckon we'd have made the GF again that year (2007). Oh well, this is what greed gets you.

Releasing the six sounds good. However, I have no idea who I'd want in to replace them really. Absolutely none. It doesn't feel like previous years where we've had a player or players to build the team around.

I think I'd be most happy if Kear identified the six best youngsters and built the team around them, stuff the named old heads. I think if the team largely consists of local youngsters who slog their guts out, even if they seem a little too young to be playing SL regularly, I reckon we can push for eighth on pride alone and it'd be a cracking, entertaining season.
