Darryl Powell for me

Right now I would settle for Robert Powell (maybe he can tap into when he played Jesus and give us the miracle we need.)

He's a great coach, even a 225-0 loss today would have been due to a well drilled side. He kept us up in 1885. He won Hull and Eagles a cup which means he is a good coach in the league format.

I think if John had a breakdown and murdered 3 cheerleaders he'd still get full backing from some quarters!

I'd like to see a coach who has a clear vision for progressing academy players into the first team. Not just saying it and then falling back on it at every opportunity. Develop and progress!

It would be interesting to know whether any of the above mentioned coaches (barring Kear) would show any interest in the position should it become vacant. We have the worst backline in Super League by far and our forwards are also getting battered every week now. Can't see us sacking JK with only 3 games to go as it does seem a bit pointless (even though in my opinion he should go). Where is the pride that pro players so often talk of? If players at the club aren't getting new deals then in reality they should be putting in more effort in order to get noticed by other prospective employees.

The worry is how many players have we signed up for next season on Kears say so. This would hamper any new coach who wanted to bring their own players in

To be honest a lot of players got extensions based on last years form, quite clearly had their contracts were up for renewal this season then a lot would be not be getting an extension.

millward would do a great job for you lot..having said that i think karl harrison would as well.
john kear seems to have lost it..it's bad enough getting beat..but when your getting bag's of points scored against you week after week..surely the board must do something about it now?

Moving from Sts to Wigan? Never going to work. More than balanced out by St's & Leigh x 2 in my opinion.

Out of the options I'd have Powell,but if I had my choice it would be the best up and coming assistant from the NRL that would be willing to come over.I think a NRL coach would give the club a level of professionalism we have been lacking,latest techniques in defense and attack he could bring would be a big plus.Saying all this who could we get?

A lot of people on this forum seem to think that we have the luxury of getting rid of one coach & another just waiting to come in.
In reality we probably have a smaller budget than any other team in superleague & possibly less than some of the of the lower division teams. When we bring in a overseas player he is not usually at the peak of his career, with the possibility of Tronc who saw the size of the job expected from him & then played the "the wifes homesick" card. The type of overseas player (if any) we need is someone who is aware that we are not a glamour side who gives free rides to players who are in the twilight of their career. JD has been a perfect signing for us over the years & Charlie & possibly Millard looks like they do a good job for us.
I do not believe that we have the stature or finance to land a big signing anymore & maybe we should cut our cloth accordingly in future. For that reason , if we are going to sign from overseas maybe we should be looking at young New Zealanders or South sea Islanders as they done us alright in the past.

Agreed, if Karl is the future we don't have one, nothing against the bloke but not for me.

He's done a super job at Batley and hats off to him but he's not a SL coach.
