I can only echo those strong sentiments and I'm sure this may have been stated already, but I would like to dedicate our landslide win ofer Salford yesterday to the memory and family of Leon Walker.

So to (loosely) quote Wilfrid Owen:

"He shall not grow old
As we that are left to grow old
Age shall not weary him
Nor the years condemn
At the setting of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember him"

God speed, Leon.

I'm sure we're all agreed our thoughts and prayers go out to the Walkers. The 5 minutes silence at BV prior to the minutes silence will forever stay in my mind and the courage the family showed that day should be an inspriation to many.

On reflection it makes you feel greatful for all that you have in life

I remember that like yesterday. Time flies... it was the first game I got to last season and it was the most profound experience to see the fans of the greatest game come together as a family and support the Walkers. I've never known a silence that spoke louder than on that evening and the Walkers were outstandingly courageous.

I also remember that Sky's coverage that whole week was exemplary - until Bill Arthur spoiled it a bit at the end of the Saints game with his daft question. But that doesn't sully what was a true show of respect for a gifted young man who fell playing our incredible sport.

Our thoughts are with Leon's family and friends. To-day will be hard for all of them.

I'd just like to add my 2p to this thread too.

It was an awful day last year - one I'll never forget, and I really feel for Leon's family - they were so courageous and today must be extremely hard for them. My thoughts are with them.

That really didn't need to be brought up again.

A sad day, and hopefully one no other family or club has to go through for long time, if ever.

Steve and Donna look in on the forum from time to time and although its a tough time for them the messages on here will help.

Will be visiting them this week to drop of some signed shirts and extra cash for the fund.

Dont matter what team we follow, we will remember "our leon"
