Talking to Ray after the game made me realise it was the first trophy I have seen Wakefield Trinity lift.

I think there's a lot that don't realize the significance of this victory we must now keep this momentum up and the Wakefield public will respond,
we have every right to shout at the top of our voices that's why we are champions

Congrats to all the lads and the team behind them, Tony Drury must take a hell of a lot of credit too, I know he's got a cracking bunch there but they play a superb game, great going forward and immense in defence.

Was a tremendous performance today and we totally blew Wigan apart in the first 40, in tricky conditions our forwards were absolutely rampant and Southernwood, Wildie and Henderson were excellent off the back of our dominant pack, at times we were just strolling through at will. The two props Slater and Spiers laid the foundation with the hard yards and the back three of Harrington, Trout and the brilliant Annekin just had too much pace and power.

Credit to Wigan who were a lot better in the 2nd half, but they still never looked like they were gonna break down our excellent defensive unit.

Really enjoyed watching these lads this season and hope to see them turn out in our colours for many years to come..

Southernwood was great and the architect behind a lot of the good stuff we did, but personally thought Chris Annekin was the best player on the park by some distance.

Did they announce the attendance? Couldn't hear the PA where we were standing.

That's the first Academy game I've been to & was really impressed by the quality of play - well done lads and all involved.
