Couple of ideas re the site.

I guess it would be tricky to gain access to the players for interviews as the club might worry about some of the questions asked and how they might be answered. Perhaps if there was a formatted set of questions with each player answering them say every 2 weeks then this might be accepted and seen as a bit of a laugh for the lads. Questions like fav song, fav meal, fav holiday destination,hobbies outside RL, most memorable moment in your career that sort of stuff.

Aside from player profiles how about doing fan profiles. Maybe a fan every month could appear and share some information about their life, likes dislikes etc. It may foster an even greater community spirit within the fan base.

Just a couple of ideas - feel free to ignore them - i am used to that as i have been married for about 20 years (lol - honestly cant remember exactly how many but its got to be around that mark - feels like more though).

Been thinking about the interviews, had a few ideas but need to speak to the club about it. Like you say it be a good laugh for the lads, and it’s all positive stuff so I do hope the club won’t have any objections.

I like the idea of the doing fan profiles, could be a good laugh and it’s something different.

We are hoping to do more coverage on the academy and they certainly deserve it seen as they are having a fantastic season!

Anything that takes hits away from the club site, like player interviews etc. is unlikely to be welcome (because of sponsors) - but you may get lucky. Turning the site into more of a fanzine is probably the best way forward, IMO.

Yeah, that's the only problem. Would be good to talk to the odd player but no worries if not! Would be an added bonus but we will have planty of ideas to work with if they say no

You could always interview people's sources from on here. Imagine an interview with Ryan Atkin's Aunties neighbour!

ok my thoughts..

fanzine a great idea and would not tread on clubs toes, what you need are maybe 6 or seven recurrent themes which others can feed in to ie and im being serious here, the unknown centres aunties neighbour page, i quite like the idea of a fan in the stand problem page, dear fan in the stand what is the correct response to the opposisition scruim half placing the ball in the scrum etc etc??? the point being to these is you dont need to reinvent the wheel every week or so just ask different questions. and situations that are current will throw up there own material.

Another thought was it should try and have a set number of pages and be printable, and have up coming games and promotioons on fron page.
but basically go for about 6 pages a week of quality rather than trying to do too much, actually six pages a week is a lot trust me ive done it.

the serious stuff of cause will do its self, stadium, adam fund, signings, etc the only point i would make here is to make sure everything is covered legally i remember the old steam pig getting in to real trouble some years back with libel laws.

Dunno but also remember Roonaldo had trouble over his fanzine a couple of years back. Anything like a fanzine or forums have to be kept seperate from the club.

Aye - but he was courting it with some of the stuff he was priniting - even if it seemed funny at the time.

Beware images which contain the players kids!

There is something akin to this in the match programme as well - so I honestly can't see it happening I'm afraid.

Like the idea of the fans profiles - honestly thought about doing that for the match programme at one time. I think we all have a tale to tell - and an explanation to give as to why we do follow the Mighty Trin!

dunno the details but was sort of stuff mods take off here, you know having a go at real people, or organisations!
basically you are running a newspaper whether you like it or not, and are subject to the same rules, but not having the resources to insure yourself against lawsuits, so best to stick to known facts and as little personal stuff as you can get away with whilst remaining intresting to your target group.

A lot of the stuff that gets posted on here, if you posted it on a non forum site could get you in bother, you know, this or that player isnt trying, the council this that or the other, this director is only in iot fior ...... etc etc, basically because you are posting it as opinion , wheras with a owned site your stating it as fact.

however thats the down side the up side is it could be great, but id start small and let it grow rather than aim too high and let it flop.
