| it depends if other clubs have the money to pay for him, if the deal is right as the rumours suggest then maybe but if not kear needs more from him in every game.

how many scrum halfs for wakey are able to 'do it' every game? it's more complex than that. teams like leeds and saints generally dominate both possession and field position and so their halfs are in a position where they are playing off the front foot. brough doesn't have that luxury, you could put lockyer in and there would be some games where he would be inefffectual.
more to the point consistency is what makes players like brough be at the top teams rather than with us

Is he? What our only one?
He is fantastic but to state HE IS OUR PLAYMAKER is rather one dimensional and if he was signed and expected to do the business every game then the coaching staff got it seriously wrong!

| Well I thought our pack showed up very well today so dont see were you are coming from Brough had 2 great opportunities to take on the deefence near ther line but for some reson did not do so and thus resulted in a turnover!! A good kicking game does not make you the complete player.

They did play well but Brough had a poor game by his high standards. I don't think beating him over a bad performance is constructive or fair. He has more than a kicking game as he has shown on many occassions.

Ok I like Broughy, Obst & Martin and even Scully who can all set up plays etc but we play better when Drew is on the pitch.

I agree but it almost came across as building a team around him!
He is quality, and should if possible be here next season (dont bother telling us where he's going thanks folks)

He is our only playmaker, it doesn't take a genius to see that without him, we struggle to unlock the opposing teams defensive strategies.

| too me we are very one dimensional without drew playing he controls most things from dummy half
when he doesnt play we obviously miss him i think brough is a great player but doesnt stamp his authority on the game to me he should be getting the ball and trying to create and spread the play from the 3rd tackle onwards but more often than not we are taking 5 drives and he gets the ball to kick downfield.

Indeed, without Drew then he is the only one who can do any kind of playmaking at all - reminds me of when we just had Solo who could do this and the opposition shut him down all the time.

I remember watching leeds against bradford when Lesley Vainikolo was their biggest threat, they kept kicking behind him and making play the ball all the time, they literally eliminated him out of the game due to him being exhausted

| In answer to the question: Is Brough over rated? My answer is no. He is rated highly and his skills are appropriate for that standard of rating.
In respect of the comments of how he plays, if that's the game plan then that's how he plays.
He has a great long kicking game, a good long pass, and has speed to go the length as he has shown a couple of times recently, BUT if the game plan is for Martin to kick the short kicks near the line and for Brough to spread the ball from first receiver near the line rather than run or kick then it doesn't matter how good he is at the other stuff.

| I would agree about Danny not 'taking on the line'. He is a very good player, but thought he might be tempted to have a go at the Hudds line on Sunday. His kicking game was awful by his standards, but he has a lot more defensive work to do than say Long or Burrow, but no more than Myler
