Yes scarlet ma did make a comment after the game and as usual handled the situation with great professionalism and dignity like he has done all season. You can find it on most forums or news.

I get that he isn't head coach but I think it will be a loss if we lose him from the club altogether.

I think to a large extent MA has lived off the back of the good work of others and is overrated by Wakefield fans even regarding his youth team performances.
Personally don’t think he can go backwards anyway, I wouldn’t agree with him displacing the current HoY and I don’t see the point in him becoming an assistant to Powell. What would we be trying to achieve by him being assistant, are we one day going to offer him the Head Coach job again because that could be a disaster out decision all over again. Plus he hasn’t earned the right to be gifted any of that.

Personally i feel as a club we a complete break from the Applegarth era. This year has been a disaster on the field and like it or not he will always be tainted by that whilst he remains here and Powell needs free reign to bring in the people he wants. We already have someone doing the youth roles he used to so there is no job there for him. The club should shake his hand and wish him the best for the future.

But also i think a clean break would be good for him. His record with youth development will stand him in good stead to get another role elsewhere. He’s coached here for a long time and moving away from Wakey will move him away from his comfort zone and help him develop as a coach, seeing a different way of doing thing will be good for him. I think a change of scenery would do him the world of good.
