| According to sky sports news:
"Bradford's appeal against their points deduction will be heard on Wednesday June 4.
The hearing, before an independent sporting sanctions appeals panel, will be held three days after the Bulls play Wakefield in a potential relegation four-pointer at Odsal's Provident Stadium."
The RFL love leaving matches and blue touch paper about.

| Bad timing. Doesn't matter now what the actual reasons are (getting an independent panel together, collecting evidence etc. etc.) so so many people will now believe that the RFL will be influenced by the result of the Bradford v Wakefield match. There are enough conspiracy theorists around without creating the perfect environment for breeding them. You would hope they would think of that when planning these things. Oh sorry - I used "RFL", "think" and "planning" in the same sentence - time for my medication !

Should have it straight after match has finished, like Challenge Cup draw, with 3 balls in a bag.
One hot one cold and one room temperature with the points they are going to get back on each one!

Agree completely. The best and only way to shut everyone up.

| We need to be at Bradford for their game in full force.
You can bet they will see this as their big chance and will drag every stay away fan back to make it a big atmosphere for them.
The players need to see and hear the red, white and blue

Agreed Pop Tart
Although you "just know" they will be given some of the 6 points back, we can go there and show them that it is Wakefield that deserve to be in the top flight and not the RFL Bulls with their iconic this, that or the other.

| If they beat us home and away it would add weight to their argument.
This game is more than a four pointer, if we win; psychologically it would damage the bulls I'm sure. If we lose; it could give the RFL an opportunity to push the bulls cause, give the bulls a huge boost and make for a Hollywood-esque style run in to the end of the season and a million pound game style saga.

| If Bradford lose, it puts the panel in the position of effectively relegating a team, and possibly destroying a new business. That puts them in an impossible position.
I don't think the RFL will want any outcome that suggests they got it wrong at the start of the season, that they derailed Bradford's season by getting it wrong, so I don't buy the "let's have a million pound game" desire. But if we win, I reckon the points will be cancelled out in some way. If Bradford win, I reckon it will stay the same, cancelling out their two points, confirming the correctness of the earlier decision.
A lot depends on the parameters of the tribunal. Two possible questions:
1. Complete rehearing, looking at new criteria, a second bite of the cherry as it were. That could result in a reduction of the sanction
Or
2. Was the RFL decision unreasonable? That's a different question. Someone can have a different opinion on something without the conflicting opinion being unreasonable. The tribunal could rule, on that question, "we would have maybe come to a different view, but the RFL decision was reasonable in the circumstances, given the criteria they had to apply". Which would mean the points stay the same.

Quote: The Avenger "
Marc Green bought the Bulls out of Administration probably because it was cheaper and didn't leave him liable for the debts, that's just a pure business decision, morally questionable maybe but he's a businessman so I'm not judging him.
The reality is that he's bought the Bulls so it's safe to say that for whatever reason he at some point wanted to buy the Bulls and he did so by purchasing them on the cheap from the Administrator rather than the more expensive option of pre Administration which, as explained above, would have been more costly both in the short and long term. The downside to buying after Administration is that the RFL would impose a 6 point penalty but presumably Mr Green being an astute businessman would have done his due diligence and understood this before making his decision.
It's a simple thought process really,
[iI want to buy the Bulls
(Option 1)I can pay top dollar, pay the creditors and have no points deduction
Or
(Option 2) I can buy them cheap, pay no creditors but suffer a six point penalty
Option 2 it is then![/i
So Marc Green has enjoyed the financial benefits of buying his Rugby League club post Administration in the full knowledge that they had a 6 point penalty but is now crying foul about that penalty despite knowing it was there before making the decision to buy the Bulls., he wants the benefits of both options and none of the responsibility!
After laughing him out of the room the Independent Panel should then publicly lambast him for his waste of time and money and for dragging Rugby League into the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
One last thing, where's the Force Majeure?'"

Hope you're ready for a two-page response from Ferocious Aardvark, in which your post is broken down into small paragraphs and to which you'll never reply because you'll have lost the will to live before the end.
Force Majeure means events beyond the control of the parties concerned. If Marc Green issued the winding up order, or whatever it was that took them into administration, then it seems a poor argument, because it was in his control. I'm assuming the argument is that it was someone other than him that took them into administration, nothing to do with him, so why should he suffer?
If he wins, that suggests that every buyer of a club in administration can argue the same thing. "Nowt to do with me". etc.

What's the betting that if they do win the appeal, the RFL immediately change the rules so no one else can benefit from using the same argument?

The most vocal Bulls fans are trying to make it technical, saying that it was the Robbie Paul (or whoever) business plan that had no merit and cost six points, not the Marc Green plan, which came later. What hasn't been said is what does Marc Green's plan say about repaying creditors and what are his intentions?
A lot of smoke being pumped out by some and not much fire.
