| An owner of a football team and rugby team at NM would be able to sell year round advertising, rather than two part year deals, the extra exposure to the football team advertisers during the Sky matches at NM would mean that the owner would be able to charge more, maximising income to the club.
By having a year round operation, it makes the stadium busier, the bars, shops, etc... busier, increasing income. Economies of scale mean that a year round specialist back room admin / management team would be best suited for the whole operation. See how the Rhinos/Tykes have developed with their joint set up. By being able to offer a greater usage of facilities means a greater bargaining power on prices, driving the two sports prices down.
If the football team get in the FL then the exposure on national tv would vastly increase their income potential, which would be a great asset to the whole operation. This would mean that interest in the joined up partnerships would be much more.
Also, grants are much more likely to be granted if they are to cover 'multi-sport' options, rather than just one individual sport. The community departments work can be better co-ordinated by having a partner within the same offices, etc..
I don't know whether this deal will occur, but the potential of working alongside a football team is massive, and an opportunity that the new owners whoever they are should investigate fully.

| Would be interesting to see the split in revenues between the Stadium Trust and the tenants for advertising, ticketing, hospitality, concessions…

| Quote altofts wildcat="altofts wildcat"Reading through the thread it appears to me that it makes perfect sense for Parkin to centralize his businesses in one place (Newmarket). It is also true that Guisley need to improve their ground shortly and by moving to Newmarket he can get Guisley a new ground for free which again appears to make perfect sense. The only thing that may cause issues is moving Guisley to Wakefield, we wont know whether they will loose or gain fans by doing this. As for buying us, it would make sense for him to invest what is probably loose change for him in order for him to effectivly control the newmarket stadium and also it would probably be cheaper to run two teams out of one stadium then it is to run one team because it would give him all round income as opposed to just football in the winter or rugby in the summer.'"
Just playing Devil's advocate here but what do you reckon he'd do if Newmarket doesn't come off which is, in reality, a possibility?

I would have no idea to be honest we would just have to wait and see but from what i have heard and from what i know i expect Newmarket to pass through the public enquiry.

As I understand it, the SoS must suggest another more suitable site if he turns NM down, we will have to build a stadium there, as he won't be able to turn that down.
I can't see him turning down NM now, it's just about the length of time it will take, I am heartened by the news that this will be looked into separately and get the feeling that it won't take as long as we first feared.

| HI all. I've not posted on here since the old forum. It's good to be back with you.
If as you say NM is been looked at as a lone issue. Then we may find we have a decision before the RFL deadline.
NM will get the seal of approval.

Meaning he's trying to make life difficult, or he wants to stay in charge of the club, or what?

I would say he'll try to hang on and if he can't he'll make life difficult.

I'll take your word for it. I'd've thought he'd be glad to get shot. What is there left for him to gain?
