| Yes, partially agreeing with you Fickle.
He was off contract, but Sam Williams was thought of as the better option, at the time, on here, and by Chessie.
Unfortunately, he wasn't given a fair chance here, and we all know how that ended.
I just hope, and especially after given his performances so far, and that of Finn's last night, that that doesn't go the same way for Ryan Hampshire. It would have been good to see the Miller/Hampshire partnership given time to combine during the pre season friendlies. Isn't Hampshire only on a one year deal. At 23, and showed some good potential, if he doesn't get the game time, could his head be turned elsewhere.
No we are certainly no worse, than any of those sides below us, but the manner of the defeat has put a dent in to what was quite a good points difference, and should Hull KR be up for it, which I am sure they will be, and should they turn us over, then we really will be looking over our shoulders

Didn’t he leave for Salford because he wanted to play fullback but couldn’t get chance due to Webb and Hardaker?? Me and Vastman rarerly see eye to eye but I’ll take his side on this occasion...

| Looking at the results only 1 from 7, worst the kids could do is 0 from 7, but that doesn't indicate a ******* thing does it.
Ok, its a bad result, we're in the game of giving ourselves a chance to win against anybody, from that perspective last night was a fail.
You've seen the season so far, the team doesn't just go to 5h1t for the next 16 games on the back of 1 poor showing, but go ahead, wallow in your despair if you must.
Personally, I won't bother, nobody died, the World carries on spinning and the team will be trying to put right the wrongs for next week.
We might win, we might lose, but its about getting the best you can from what is available.
1 bad game doesn't wipe out everything that was good before it.
Anybody that say's that was typical Wakefield clearly hasn't been watching them, its not at all typical, hasn't been typical for a long while.
Imo, we've had quite a few bad results this season but no bad games, there is a difference, it was bound to happen sooner or later, just need to get back on it and put in a performance against Cas.
No we don't have to win it, we have to give ourselves a chance to win it, and what happens...happens.

Last night was an awful performance but, we do have to keep it it context.
Only a week ago, the very same 17 beat high flying Saints (only their 2nd defeat of the season.
We have a fit squad and Chester has the job of picking the betst 17 to try and get a result at Cas next week and than at KR, Huddersfield and Widnes .
Part of the problem is that having finished within a whisker of 4th last season and on the back of a couple of signings, many were hoping that we would be challenging for a top 4 spot this time around.
Top 4 may be the aim but, given the massive improvement by Warrington, plus, Leeds, Wigan, Saints and Hull all performing well and Cas still over achieving, 4th looks a really tough ask and realistically, we are still aiming fo something around there but anywhere between 5th and 8th is where we are likely to finish (unless we put a decent run together).
We should all get behind Chester and the team and not panic if we get done next week.
The fixtures against the lower half clubs will see us comfortably in the top 8 and a couple of scalps along the way will allow us to finish in the top half of the table.
This may not be what we all dream about but, it would be a decent effort for the club with the lowest s/c spend in SL.

| I was peed off and gutted last night and probably got no more than two hours sleep not being able to let go. We start again today building up for being on the terraces supporting whatever 17 turn out against Cas. Crazy

| not all doom and gloom guys - with the money we have and the players we can attract a couple of results like this have to be expected during the year ( I fear this week is going to be another one)
we are still at moment on track for top 8 (just) - we have beat the bottom 4 teams - if we do that again in the second round we will finish on 18 points - I think that will be enough this year. Again with us a top 8 finish is really all we can ask for.
so, so far still on track - everyone calm down,

I remember that year when Harbin was in charge & we lost 12 on the bounce I think, that was pants. Get a grip!'"
To be fair the socks were a disgrace.

Take them for granted and you'll get a surprise.'"
Correct mate, some were saying it was only Salford when we beat them but I said at the time they are a good side and will cause a few upsets this season. No disgrace especially at there place.

Actually, if we only beat the sides currently below us, we'll be on 22 points, because we still play widnes & Huddersfield twice. Nothing guaranteed, but not as bleak as you're making out.

| A bit of an over reaction from some I think. Sad that Finn and Grix are being targeted for this performance after their sterling service so far. It happens, Jake Webster has been a rock for us for the last 2 years but last night he was shocking. Hopefully Powell will keep faith with him as CC should do with Finn and Grix.

Not sure if it was effort or desire that cost you after your efforts last week. We're a minnow in the scheme of things but we're always hard to beat. The result has surprised me considering we're missing a few key players and lost Lui earlyish. Got a lot of love for Wakey and you'll bounce back. Consistency is the big ask for both our teams, but both are capable of safety in the top eight this season.
I don't think you clicked and we're a team that works hard to overcome our shortcomings, so combine the two and the result is less surprising.
Will be supporting you for the rest of the season as always...'"
Hello old mate, long time no hear but a typical spot on analysis from you. hope you're well.

I seriously think every Cas fan will pray Grix stays at the back for next weeks game. Finn? I'm not sure how they'd go.

| It's not like Max was so great last time he played against Cas. Whoever plays fullback against Cas is going to have a torrid time.
We need to find a way of stopping them being under pressure rather than stressing about which is least likely to stuff up.
