| Quote newgroundb4cas="newgroundb4cas"It will be a mistake if he goes back to the Rhinos we have given him a chance and with our coaching etc he has flourished he owes it to us to sign. He himself says he feels at home here never in his career he has felt at home. I blame ourselves partly because it was a stupid deal in the first place why we just didn't sign him permenantly and none of this you can have him back after a year non sense was so dumb Amor was the 6th choice prop at Leeds probably worse we could have signed him surely with no questions !. Amor is now at a side that is going places new ground, hes made some good mates here, Kyle can lead us into battle at Newmarket. Or will Kyle go to sheddingly be a bit part player and be a shadow I personally think it will be a mistake if he goes back, it would be a great shame.'"
Agree again
Sadly Amor will not be the first or the last to have his head turned and career ruined by big promises, big money and a greedy agent.

| Quote wildshot="wildshot"That might well be down to how Leeds played it rather than us. It could well have been that or nothing. Leeds wanted first dibs. Remember they had first dibs on Iestyn Harris when he left them. Smart move by Leeds if you ask me.
If we didn't agree to it then we probably wouldn't have got Amor at all this year.'"
Agree, we weren't in the driving seat on this one, he's a Leeds player and they call the shots and if we hadn't of come up with this idea we wouldn't have had him at all, so the club deserve a pat on the back for it. It's been another year at the club that has hopefully persuaded him where his immediate future lies, without it he may have gone to a number of other clubs.

I expect you're right - we were in desperate straits at the time the deal was done and Mr Hetherington being the shrewd operator he is, saw an opportunity to put his club in a win/win situation - nothing wrong with that, but I can't imagine for a minute that WTW were in the driving seat when it came to this particular negotiation.

| Quote vastman="vastman"Know your enemy I say. As a Trin fan I'm well aware of the mindset that exists at Sheadingly. My opinion for what it's worth is that Amor doesn't tick the boxes, especially for the fans and sponsors. Leeds have always had delusions of grandeur but now after umpteen titles it's genuine expectation.
They like their home grown which Amor actually isn't. They like their forwards to appear more dynamic than Amor probably appears (to them). They love their big signings from the other top clubs no matter how clapped out they are, which Amor isn't. Above all they just adore a big Aussie, and will sign an Aussie prop almost as an instinct which is the only explanation foe signing Sam Backo!
I may be wrong and they may have changed but past experience tells me that he just isn't a Leeds standard player as they would pompously say. Amor will drop from their collective consciousness pretty quickly I hope. I mean it's nearly two weeks since they last saw him.
'"
Talk about chips on shoulders! Must be a real effort to stand up carrying such a big weight around.
The above nonsense is riddled with contradiction. Home grown or Aussie import...which is it? At least we have the talent and the resources to make that choice!
Sam Backo was 27 when he signed for Leeds...hardly a 'clapped out' age for a prop, and that was over TWENTY years ago.
Since then Leeds have signed only two big Aussie props...Kylie Leuluai and Ben Cross, only one of whom was 'clapped out'.
As for Amor 'ticking the boxes', on the basis of what I've seen of Wakey this season he ticks most for me.

What chip, look in the mirror mate
If you were not so defensive you'd have read a back handed compliment in my post. This is a Wakefield forum so you wouldn't expect my post to be sugar coated or spare Leeds of a few digs would you - you over sensitive ninny. I'm actually saying that Amor simply isn't IMHO a Leeds type signing, I'm saying the expectation at Leeds is far higher than with us and Amor won't fit the bill IMO. Nothing to do with Amors ability as a player but his ability to shine in an environment like Leeds. That is why Leeds tend to go for named players or players who have come through the system, no contradiction or nonsense there. Amor is neither, I believe he was duel reg and then signed on a contract as a punt, which IMHO has been not been a huge success for Leeds.
It's a judgement call by the Leeds club and the player but on past experience I think and hope they will let Amor go. Now don't fall off that high horse will you!

It wasn't me who mentioned Pitts tbh, I'm aware of the back story on that one - however the actual poster was still right, it didn't end well.

| Look at it from his point of view - go back to Leeds no guarantee of first team rugby and dependant on who they sign could be well down the order.Or - stay at Wakey guarantee first team action and things looking so good for the future.Know what I would do or advise a player to do but then again Im a Wakey fan so it dont take much working out.

how dare you come on here with your well constructed argument. be off with you.
although, i think (and hope) that vastman has a point - amor has gone about his job quietly and with efficiently in a lower placed team - that's not going to cause a big rush for season tickets at leeds.

Leeds have more players who came through the system because it's a better and bigger system than at other clubs, but as for only going for "name" players when looking outside you're completely wrong. If a Peacock or Buderus is available then they've sometimes gone in for them, but off the top of my head, Hetherington has also signed Poching, Dunemann, Pitts, Kirke, Hardaker, Delaney, Leuluai, Hauraki, Griffin, Moore, Lunt and so on, with varying success but with none of them being "named players" before they came. How does Leeds's latest signing, an Australian that everyone had to google to find out who he was, fit into your theory?
There is absolutely no suggestion that Amor isn't a Leeds-type signing because he isn't a big enough name. After all, Leeds signed him in the first place.
They signed him as a development project, he's developed, there's no reason they wouldn't want him back.
